Sabs & Breezy

5/24/13 Even though Gina said she was taking a slight respite from fostering any babies, here she is again taking in two abandoned 2-week- old male kittens. We asked for help in naming them.  A friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart suggested that we name them after a young woman, Sabrina, who was often called “Sabs” and “Breezy”.  Sabrina worked at Platz Veterinary hospital and was loved by many for her caring ways with humans and animals.  Unfortunately, Sabrina was murdered in her home but we are honored that we can keep her legacy alive in these sweet little boys.~ diana

Bunnies

5/18/13
The mom for these sweet little bunnies was attacked and killed by a dog. Two bunnies also died but these two babies were spared and brought in to Gina. Further reports will follow. ~ diana

It is with sadness that I must report that one more of the bunnies passed away.  The last bunny is being cared for by a co-worker of Gina’s. ~ diana

Saved from the Streets, Prince was Neutered Last Week

5/21/13  As I’ve reported before, 4 Paws 1 Heart is always happy and willing to help those animals who are rescued from the streets by good people who then take that animal into their home. Such was the case with Prince who was just neutered this past week. Congratulations to his new parents and to Prince on getting an office job with our good 4 Paws 1 Heart friend, Nicole.

Please Keep Snickers in Your Prayers

5/20/13  Please keep Snickers is in your prayers. Love you, Snickers!!~Aunti Di

To all the Snickers’ Warriors. Please say little prayer for our baby boy, he is going in to get fixed tomorrow. Our vet is awesome, but Mamma still worries because of his breathing issues…even though his lungs are clear, Snickers’ nasal passages are damaged from his respiratory infection he had when he was found. He’s been put under before…but I’m allowed to worry, I’m his mamma. Thank you all! And here is a photo of his cuteness and badness all wrapped up in one! – Snickers’ Mom

5/21/13  Snicky update: He is HOME! He is very sleepy, he still on a mission to knock everything off tables, counters, shelves, etc…but he does it in slow motion. thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts! His Mamma (& Dad) can sleep better tonight!  Mamma Dee

Tyler Update

5/15/13 – Tyler Update< Tonight Tyler was doing well recovering from the major surgery that took place this early afternoon. His femur was amputated due to the extent of his injuries, but Tyler is a strong boy who has the will to move forward. We all realize that accidents happen but too many preventable injuries are costing the life if not permanent damage long term for the pet. Please.. Neuter your pet so that they are less likely to run off or supervise when not home by putting them in a safe environment. ~ gina

Scruffy Going to NBS

May 15, 2013  –  Our little Scruffy will be going to our NBS friends for the final round of his journey — finding his forever, loving home. I know we will continue to get updates and anyone interested in adopting him or any of the other sweet animals needing a loving home, should submit an application with NBS Animal Rescue.

Meet Tyler

Meet Tyler — He is a really nice Miniature Pincher that was hit by a car in Eastpointe about 11pm tonight (5/12/13). His leg is badly broken and the pelvis is also broken in 2-3 areas. We made sure he was stabilized and medicated and not in pain while I tried to find his owner.

I posted a photo and the story on For the Love of Louie and the owner responded. It turns out that the owner had just adopted Tyler a week ago. He had seen him at the ‘pet store’ at Gibraltar and purchased him just to save him. It is unknown how this pup escaped from the yard he was in. The owner decided to surrender Tyler to 4 paws 1 heart because his main concern was giving Tyler the care he required.

May 14, 2013  – 4 Paws 1 Heart will continue to cover the needed medical treatment and then Tyler will be placed in a home that is the perfect fit for his long-term needs. It is always difficult when something like this happens, but I’m a believer that everything happens for a reason. Thank you all for sharing his story on For the Love of Louie and many thanks to Leah who created the page for lost and found animals. If there are any questions about Tyler I can be reached at [email protected]I also want to clarify that Tyler is NOT suffering. He is hospitalized and supported by veterinary professionals. His injuries are fixable and we are willing to give him a chance to live a long happy life by paying for his surgery). Our group is here to give animals like Tyler, “claimed or not claimed”, a second chance by paying medical bills and making sure he is placed with the best rescue to help his find his forever, loving home. As always, donations are always welcome because it is the only way we can continue to help with animals like Tyler and Scruffy. ~ gina
