Fatboi – Afraid He Was Dying, His Mom Was Desperate For Help

8/14/15 – So many of our good friends came together to help this poor baby. ~ diana

“A very special shout out today to Ms Diana of this group and all the team, if it were not for them, Fatboi would have nver have gotten to the vet, Healthy Paws Veterinary Medical Center in Westland. She arranged everything from medical care to a very special transportation volunteer Ms Rachel Gerstner. She has been on the phone with me from the wee morning this morning till the episode was over tonight. I cannot ever thank this group enough, after going through everything I went thru since Tuesday till now, these two ladies saved my sanity. I thought my best friend/protector/American Bulldog Baby was going to die. I was going to lose my mind. I contacted this group and within a two-three hour period had a vet visit secured and transportation. I love you guys. I cannot ever thank u enough. If our country , states and cities would come together like these people did today, the USA would be a wonderful place to live. They came together for a dog they did not even know. Fatboi is resting comfortably tonight only after they came to his rescue. He ended up with a very upset GI tract, an ear infection, and the start of arthritis. God Bless This Goup Of People. Fatboi and I love you. ~ Lauren T.fatboiw:laurentipinski8:13:15

Kittens – Please Promote Spaying and Neutering!

8/14/15 – We were happy to help get more kittens off the street. Although they are about 8 weeks old. they are underweight because mom may have been unable to feed them properly. Unfortunately, one of the four did not survive but the others were recently examined and everyone is doing fine. When they weigh enough, they will all be neutered/spayed. Thank You, Teresa N. for not turning your back on these babies. ~ dianasummerof2015kittens(1)summerof2015kittens(2)8:14:15summerofkittens8:14:15summerofkittens2015***

Lil’ Dogs Resort – Nugget and Our Thank You

NuggetI would like to publicly thank “Lil dogs pet resort” for supporting 4 paws 1 heart and always being there.. They are a stellar resort for any small breed dog and you can count on your dog receiving top of the line care. This pic is of a little pup I raised from 2 days old. She was adopted a few years ago by one of the owners at Lil dogs, and I couldn’t have found a better home. She’s all grown up and I got to visit her today. If you ever need boarding, day care, grooming, training, advice, etc. this is the place located in St. Clair Shores. Note: this is a small dog resort. Here is the website and thank you guys again for all you do for the animals!!!!! ♡

Onyx – Fighting For Her Life

8/12/15 – onyx8:12:15Onyx is getting tons of love while we look for her forever home. She was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis and possible internal bleeding. She needed a plasma transfusion, exploratory surgery, and lots of recovery. When we thought she was on the mend she developed Vasculitis. Needless to say she has been our little project, but we love her. Rescue is about finishing what you start and when we agreed to hospitalize Onyx we were in it till the end. We didn’t expect her health to take us on an emotional and financial rollercoaster, but veterinary medicine is not black and white. Onyx has made daily improvement during her health issues and she has remained strong. There are no more complications to our knowledge so she’s ready! It’s because of our doctors Onyx is alive. We are blessed (to say the least), for the many veterinary hospitals who respect us and our mission as we do them. Their professionalism, compassion, and understanding is priceless. These are doctors who come in on their personal time, take our animals home if needed, do emergency surgery in the wee hours of the night, etc. They don’t have to…but they do. Unfortunately, these same doctors are insulted, criticized, yelled at, taken advantage of, and disrespected by many owners who shouldn’t have a pet to begin with. Sometimes it’s just owners upset and lashing out. Other times it’s anger towards veterinary costs. People don’t realize these doctors witness animal abuse and neglect on a daily basis. They shed tears when having to put a sick puppy, kitten, pregnant animal, elderly animal or injured animal to sleep. They are human, they have families, bills, and they have lives of their own outside of their profession. However, they always remain positive and available to save your animals life. Gina

Gino – 9 Weeks Old and Fighting to Survive

Gino8:12:15***gino8:12:158/12/15 Late last night 4 paws 1 heart was contacted about this sick little boy who needed help as soon as possible.  He was in critical condition because his vitals were dangerously low. One of our very favorite doctors, Dr. Graves, has been providing round the clock care/monitoring. He is only 9 weeks old and fragile, so paws crossed he continues to do well. I’ll update again once I know more. Gina

Katniss the Kitten – May You Rest In Peace

8/12/15 – Some sad news this morning from our friend Missy, who rescued little Katniss, the kitten, after she allegedly fell from a roof and was hit by a car. RIP Sweet Baby, at least you knew love and not cruelty in the end. ~ diana

“Now that I have spoken to Diana and Sandra I am going to update on sweet little katniss. I cannot be certain if was trauma related or not. A few nights ago katniss started to open her mouth like she was having trouble breathing or panting. Within minutes she was seizing and stopped breathing. I was warned she had potential neurological damage and may not make it or may need put down. She was so very sweet and would watch us from across the room. While I am happy to have gotten to meet her and love her and show her that people do love her I am very upset that she did not make it to go to that forever home and see what a real family is like. RIP katniss I am sure you are running and jumping and enjoying being able to run, jump, and play. You will always hold a special place in my heart and I will never forget the way she would watch me when I talked to her, or push herself up to see me, and push up to be right under my chin every time she slept with me. She was so sweet even after whatever it was happened to her.” MissyKatniss the Kitten8:121:5

Kitten with a Botfly

8/11/15 – I can’t tell you how thankful we are for our great rescue friends. Especially, Melanie of Hopeful Heart Rescue. We were contacted by a friend of 4p1h who rescued 4 kittens. We were all ready to get them vetted only to learn that one little baby had what appeared to be a wound. Melanie immediately took in the kittens and brought this little guy to her vet where this disgusting botfly was removed. A big thanks to the rescuer and to Hopeful Heart Rescue. ~ diana
