They Were Buried Alive – Only Tiny Tim Survived

10/9/15 – A bit of sad news this morning. You will remember the three kittens who we suspect were buried alive until the evil kids who did this had a change of heart. We just received an update from the kind woman who tried to save them. Unfortunately, even with our medical help, two of the kittens did not survive. One appeared to die from a seizure probably caused by trauma to the brain. But the good news is that one male kitten, Tiny Tim, is thriving. Tiny Tim will be seeing the vet again and we will receive his updated photo soon. In the meantime, may the two babies rest in peace. Thankfully, they did know love in their final days. ~ dianatiny tim and brothers tinytim10:9:15 buried alive tinytimandborothers-buried alive 10:9:15

Griffey – RIP Sweet Boy

10/8/15 – We received a call from one of the veterinarians we work with asking if we could help with a dog brought into emergency. The little puppy had been recently adopted at the Meet Your Best Friend event at the Detroit Zoo. Although this is not a situation we would normally assist in, I had to at least offer to pay for testing to see if the puppy could be saved. Unfortunately, after significant heartache to the family and medical expenses (in addition to what we paid), poor little Griffey did not make it. May he rest in peace and I pray that once the family gets over his loss, they are able to try and save another.Griffey was much loved until the end. ~ diana griffey10:8:15::

Saving Lives – Cats and Kittens

10/1/15 – Here it is October 1 already!! Please remember that now that the temperatures are getting cooler, knock on your hood, make some noise, before starting your car engine. There are so many cats and kittens on the streets looking for warm spots. As has been typical for the past six months, we have helped more cats than I have been able to keep us with to tell their individual stories. All of these babies were rescued from the streets. They were either born on the streets or dumped by their owners — unfortunately, far too many are victims of this kind of abuse. All of these babies are in fosters trying to find their forever homes. If you can open your hearts and homes to any of these sweeties, please check out the Petfinder and Adopt A Pet sites that 4 Paws 1 Heart administers for all of the individual rescuers we help. Also, check out our Friends of 4 Paws 1 Heart facebook page. And, if you can find it in your budget to donate, please use the donate tab on this page or P.O. Box 84 St. Clair Shores, MI 48082. ~ diana12047083_1023899034309061_6251079957535445664_n cat2-10:1:15cat3:10:1:15cat4-10:1:15cat5-10:1:15cat6-10:1:15cat7-10:1:15cat8-10:1:15cat9-10:1:15

Nino – RIP Sweet Manx

9/30/14 – More Sad News to Report – Our Little Manx Nino died last night. His very loving adoptive family noticed that he wasn’t acting normal. They took him in to the emergency and unfortunately, it was determined that Nino had many internal issues that just couldn’t be fixed. He died peacefully in the love of his new adoptive parents. We are so very sorry and can’t thank them enough for adopting this very sweet boy found in an industrial complex. He lived a short life but it was filled with much love. ~ diananino8:9:15nino9:9:15

Spencer – RIP Sweet Baby

9/30/15 – Last night was a very difficult night for the 4 Paws 1 Heart Family. I received a call last night that the little kitten who was found trying to cross Metropolitan Parkway, Harrison Twp., MI was bleeding from the mouth. When he was vetted a cyst was found in his mouth and it was going to be checked when he went in for his neutering. Well it turns out that little Spencer had so much more going on that we never knew about. He was brought into emergency and a large mass was found in his abdomen. It turned out that the kitten had been having other symptoms so he was kept over for exploratory surgery. Spencer had a large huge lymph node that was enlarged due to either lymphoma or FIP. The doctors recommended that Spencer be humanely euthanized. RIP Little Guy — it sounds so trite but at least you did not die suffering on the street. ~ dianaspencer9:30:15
