LOLA TREATED AND NOW FOSTERED

10/25/22 – Lola was found on the streets October 6 with a serious anal discharge which made the rescuer suspect she had pyrometra which is an infection in the uterus. According to PetMD “The term stems from the Latin words “pyro” (which means pus) and “metra” (which means uterus or womb). This condition occurs more frequently in older, unspayed female cats that have had several heat cycles in their lives without getting pregnant.” She was going to be taken to All About Animals and asked for our assistance; she also had a foster lined up. We agreed to help this very sweet orphan and the other day her rescuer sent me an update. Here it is, along with the photos from when she was rescued and now. Your donations make a huge difference in our communities. – Diana.

“Hi Diana, I want to thank you so much for saving Lola’s life! She did in fact have Pyrometra and also tested positive for FIV. The combination would have for sure killed her if she had been left outside and untreated. And she is young, they estimated her age between 1 – 2 yrs old. Between you and the young lady who had recently started feeding her in the trailer park, who noticed the discharge and reached out for help, Lola’s life was undoubtedly saved. The doctor advised to wait on her vaccines due to the Pyrometra and FIV, so as to not overwhelm her fragile body.

I’ve attached pictures of Lola in her foster home. She is doing very well and becoming spunkier by the day. I know you were/are on hold, so I appreciate even more your willingness to help save this young kitty’s life. Thank you so much for all you do for so many homeless animals!! Many would not receive the help they need and would not survive if not for the help of 4P1H. The entire rescue community appreciates you so very much!! – Carolyn”
