Friggles – Burned by Flea Medication
Clarification – friggles was treated as a very young puppy with flea medication. His story is on our website: 4paws1heart.org
1/15/18 – Friggles Update – Although looking much better, the wound along his shoulders continues to break open because of his activity. This has been going on since October, 2017. 4 Paws 1 Heart has continued to help Friggles fully recover. Please be careful as to what you use on your pets. ~ diana
Soup – A Look Back in Time
1/13/18 – An oldie by a goodie. Our boy, Soup. It was four years ago when Soup was brought into the emergency where Gina worked. He spent 12 weeks in a crate (with Chance’s mom) while he recovered from a broken Pelvis. Then, he spent almost a year with Gina DeLuca while she tried to find the purrfect family. And, as Gina does so often, she did find that purrfect family MaryBeth Walsh Victor. Can you just imagine the horror of having your pelvis broken, your head stuck in a can, and lying helpless in the cold? ~ diana
“Remember Soup? He was found with his head stuck in a soup can? The shaved area on his hind end was because another animal crushed his pelvis. Unable to defend himself, he cried and crawled until someone heard him and contacted us for help. I took him home to recover from his shattered pelvis (12 weeks to officially heal), and this December made one year fostering him. Longest foster ever in my home. I’m very happy to report that Soup will be going to his forever home this Friday. I will miss him dearly, but this family is wonderful for him! They are perfect, he is perfect, and he will get the love and attention he deserves. We are so blessed to have given him a 2nd chance especially after being found on the street unable to walk.. Baby – She Was Found Running the Streets; No Owner Could Be Found
1/12/18 – This is Baby. Someone called Erica (an independent rescuer we have worked with in the past) weeks ago about a stray purple poodle running 7 mile in Detroit. Erica picked her up, and got her cleaned up. Baby appeared rather healthy and cared for. Due to the purple paws, she felt that she had a home somewhere. Erica tried really hard to find her owners but no one was found. She was loved at one point before becoming displaced. Recently she began wobbling/shaking a bit and she appeared to have a skin issue. Erica is committed to this girl as far as fostering her. She is approximately 6 years old. 4 Paws 1 Heart has committed to helping Baby and she was recently treated at the vet and spayed. We are hoping that an imbalance in her glucose levels may have caused the wobbling. Anyone interested in Baby should contact Erica at: [email protected] ~ diana
Stanley – Update
1/11/18 – Please continue your prayers for our senior girl, Stanley, who was found in a colony in Chesterfield, MI during below freezing temperatures. Rather than humane euthanization, our friend, Jo, has taken in Stanley and doing everything possible to help in her recovery. ~ diana

Rosie Roo – Needs Dental Surgery — Once Again
1/11/18 – Just a reminder of how your donations make a difference in the lives of those most vulnerable. Rosie is the very sweetest dog I’ve ever met. When Tony and I visited, she just stuck by us, loving to be petted and loved. My heart swells when I think of her being so loved now after, God only knows, what she went through on the streets as a senior, once pet. ~ diana
“Wow!!! Thanks to some very special friends my Birthday Fundraiser for 4 Paws 1 Heartis already 2/3 of the way to my goal!!! Thankyou to those who have donated so far. As most of you know my heart is with special needs furkids. Hospice like Carlos was, physical challenges like Chance & Carla, emotional trauma like Phoenix, and seniors like Rosie Roo here. This is a before & after of our 16yr old Rosie. She’s been with us 1yr & 4mo. I saw her before photo on Love of Louie as a found stray going to Warren Animal Control. I sent her pic to Diana Rascano at 4paws1heart knowing she was a senior, needing medical care who wouldn’t do well in a shelter. Diana gave me the ok, the animal control officer was very kind to let me pick her up and after numerous vet visits including 21 teeth pulled, shots, visits for various other ailments Rosie is living her golden yrs in comfort, eating home cooked meals, sleeping in my bed and is sooo loved! None of this would be possible without 4paws1heart. So please help me, help them, to continue making happy endings for animals like Rosie Roo⚘~ Denise”

Twyla – Honoring Law Enforcement Men and Women
1/9/18 – In honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, I thought it appropriate to share Twyla’s story (she was saved by a police officer) once again with you. Every day there are caring police officers who not only protect the citizens of their communities, but will not turn their back when they see an animal in need. In St. Clair Shores, we have a very caring officer, Sgt. Eidt, who is a member of our Animal Care and Welfare Committee. Every night when she is on duty she keeps her eyes out for animals in trouble and works hard to educate and protect. In our Michigan State Police, there is Trooper Kuhn, who, with his partner, saved Joy (see our website for her story). I’m sure that our many supporters know of an officer in their community; if you do, please share on this post. Again, a huge thank you to the men and women serving our communities to protect humans and animals.
Please share Twyla’s store and help us find our little Twyla her forever home. – May God Bless and watch over our Laws Enforcement Officers and their families. ~ diana
“Hey Facebook Land, it’s me…Twyla! As you can see, I’m absolutely purrrfect in every way. I was rescued from the streets by a super nice Police Officer when Iwalked right up to her squad car asking for help, well…to serve & protect…right?
Right! She scooped me up and took me to my foster mommy’s house to rest, put on some much needed weight, and she even donated to 4 Paws 1 Heart to help with my spay, shots & snap test. So now I’m spayed, tested neg & happy & healthy, all ready for my forever home!!! I’m approx 15mo old, very playful, very talkative. Love my food & my toys, and I’m housed with other kitty’s & 2 doggys, so I get along with others but also would be quite content being the only princess of your palace! If you want to know more about all my perfection then send my foster mommy an email with your phone # to [email protected] By the way I’m located in Clinton Township…Where they have the bestest kitty saving Police Officers! 🐱

Regal – RIP Sweet Baby – Wish We Could Have Saved You
1/3/17 – RIP Sweet Regal. May you be free from pain and whole again.
I received a message from a long-time supporter. A cat had showed up in a garage which services tires. I was told the cat was injured but really never knew the extent until she was finally trapped yesterday. The employees of the garage had tried for weeks to get her and although she came for food, she remained elusive. Finally, we were able to get a trap there and she was finally caught. Our good friend, Debra B. was able to get her and we made arrangements for her to be immediately seen by a veterinarian. Unfortunately, it took over 15 minutes to get Regal under in order to examine her and what was found was just heartbreaking. Regal was very emaciated. Her eye was gone and her face was literally falling off from layers of infection — the skin was totally dead. Regal was very feral and very much in pain. The doctor said she hadn’t seen any animal in this bad of condition in years. Debra advised that this photo doesn’t even come close to depicting the horror of her condition. The doctor advised that it would take many weeks of treatment, bandage changes, visits to the doctor, and cleanings in order to even hope of saving her. All involved agreed that making Regal suffer any longer than she already has would not be humane. I wish we could save them all but when we can’t, it’s critical that we are able to do what is best for the animal. Please, please pray for all of the poor animals who continue to be outside in these life-killing temperatures. ~ diana
