Salem, Lola, Frey, and Zelda – Rescued from the Streets

11/6/20 – Salem, Lola, Frey, and Zelda are four of the many kittens rescued from the streets over the past few month. They will have their final appointment before going to adopted homes where they will be vaccinated, tested, spayed/neutered. Since August, 2010, 4 paws 1 heart has paid $975,000 in medical treatment for over 7,500 stray, abandoned, and abused animals. And, as I’ve said so many times before, we couldn’t do it without the support of so many businesses and individuals. These little babies will be loved and sheltered and never have to worry about getting hit by a car or losing an eye because of an untreated upper respiratory infection. In that, we are all so very grateful. – diana

Squirt and Callie – Found With Upper Respiratory Infections

11/5/20 – Squirt and Callie were rescued by a very kind man. One is an adult cat the other a kitten. They were both very ill with upper respiratory infections, vomiting, and diarrhea, They were taken to one of our partner veterinaries where they were treated for all of their ailments. There will be follow up to make sure the infections are gone and they will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and tested when appropriate. This has been the year of the cats and I sincerely thank all of the amazing people who never turn their backs to an animal in need and the many kind people who continue to support our mission. – diana

Pickle and Gherkin – Found in a Box in a Garage; Both With Respiratory Infections

11/3/20 – Meet Pickle and Gherkin. They were found in a box, in a person’s garage. These little cuties are about 5 weeks old and both had upper respiratory infections. Both have been treated for that and dewormed and when they are old enough and healthy, we will be taking care of their vaccines, spay/neuter, and a snap test. Thank you to our many supporters for helping us help them. – diana

Teddy and Roxy – Teddy May Have Been Sexually Assaulted; Roxy Needed Vetting

11/2/20 – Teddy and Roxy were taken in by a new rescue group who we have also helped with spay/neuter/general vetting for several cats. The rescue suspected that Teddy had been sexually assaulted although it could not be confirmed by the vet. What could be confirmed was that Teddy was having issues with his anus causing him discomfort. Roxy just needed the usual vetting. Last week both returned to the vet to be treated for all of their medical needs including spay/neuter, vaccines, and heart worm tests complements of 4 paws 1 heart and our amazing donors. Roxy (rotweiller) has had a great deal of interest but not Teddy as yet. So, if you’re interested, please contact: [email protected] – diana

Stevie – Freezing and Starving During a Downpour, He Found the Right House

This is Stevie. He showed up at the right home during a downpour. He was freezing and starving. He was taken in by the homeowner who is a friend of 4p1h and we agreed to pay for him to be neutered, tested, and vaccinated if an owner could not be found. Stevie was posted and scanned and no owner showed up. He had his first scary visit to the vet for his testing and vaccines and next week he will get neutered. Stevie is very friendly and sweet but the finder already has her legal limit of cats. So, please, if you’re interested in this handsome boy, please contact Angelina at: [email protected] – diana

Brutus – Found, Emaciated, on the Side of a Major Highway

10/28/20 – The other day I received the following message from a very kind woman who we helped about one year ago with another beautiful dog, Velcro, who the family rescued and we helped to make him become a permanent member of the family. Here is Brutus’ harrowing story – diana
“Saturday afternoon my husband and I were driving down I96 at Telegraph Rd and noticed a severely emaciated and scared puppy on the shoulder of I96 just after the on ramp from Telegraph Rd. He was cowering against the wall of the freeway and was 10 feet away from certain death. We pulled over and backed up down the shoulder to where he was. A semi truck saw what we were trying to do and he stopped the first lane of traffic to help us rescue him. The puppy was so happy to see us that he jumped right into our van and laid down.
My husband and I brought him immediately home and checked him over. The little boy has scars on his right side from what looks like cigar burns and he was so skinny that I thought he would break if we handled him too much. He was so weak that he could barely walk and all of his bones were visible through his skin. We gave him a little bit of food and a lot of water, let him sleep and he perked up a bit.
I introduced him to Velcro and our other dog Martell. They accepted him right away. I posted a picture of the puppy on Facebook. My family and both dogs fell in love with him and would like to keep him. He is Velcro’s new baby now and Martell’s new best buddy.
My husband and I are both unemployed due to the pandemic and are living off of unemployment benefits. We cannot afford the puppy’s vetting and neutering at this time. Sandra Ann recommended that I contact you and that there might be a chance you could assist us with vetting and neutering of this pup.
Thank you again for all you have done for us with Velcro. Any assistance that you could offer for Brutus would be greatly appreciated. This puppy is so special. It has only been 2 and a half days and he is already a part of the family.

Jeffrey Michael – Found at Just 5 Weeks Old With a Crushed Paw

10/27/20 – This past summer we were thankful to help our friends at Friends of Companion Animals Feline Rescue & Adoption Center by paying for Jeffrey Michael’s amputation. Without our great rescue groups and independent rescuers our help wouldn’t be needed. But, working together, we can make a huge difference. – diana
P.S. Our Halloween Match allows you to double your match through tomorrow, October 28. A huge thank you to all who have donated already.jeffrey michael w: Friends of Companion Animals 7:15:20

Bella, Bonnie, Boo, and Chesterfield – Found on The Streets

10/26/20 – There have been so many cats/kittens needing our help over the past 7 months that it’s been impossible to keep up without overwhelming everyone. Here are some of the beauties who have been given that second chance at life and who will no longer be responsible for the overpopulation of cats because they have all been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested, and treated for minor illnesses by 4 Paws 1 Heart. It is only because of you that we are able to make this happen so if you can, double your donation today by having your donation matched during our $1,000 Halloween Match which ends 10/28/20.

Saturn – He Was Found in the Middle of a Busy Road – Maybe Thrown Out of a Vehicle

10/23/20 – The finder is a student of an independent rescuer we’ve assisted on several occasions. It appears that the kitten, Saturn, may have been thrown out of a car in that she was found in the middle of a busy road with a bloody face. She will be seeing a vet on Sunday where her face will be examined and she will be eventually vaccinated, tested, and spayed. Thank you to our many supporters who have already donated toward the $1,000 Halloween Match. The match continues until October 28. The need continues and we are forever grateful for your support. – diana
