WAR DOGS

5/29/23 – Today is a day we remember and honor those heroes of our military who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. As an organization whose goal is based on giving second chances to our abandoned and abused, we thought it only appropriate to also remember and honor all of the military dogs who also paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect and serve our military and for our freedom. God Bless America

MUFFINS’ IS DOING MUCH BETTER

Muffins’ can finally breathe through her nose. It’s amazing what Veterinary Medicine is capable of. Dr Stanley at Animal Surgical Center is an incredible surgeon. It took almost 1 year to find a solution but she did it. We have a ways to go, but so far I’m pleased with the results.

I also want to say a special thank you to everyone who made this possible. You all know who you are and I’m so grateful.

I was able to get $2,500 in grant money, $5,000 from a good friend who wants to remain anonymous, my 2 Facebook fundraisers brought in over $4,000.

Not to mention, the countless supporters who donated through 4 Paws 1 Heart PayPal or did birthday fundraisers for Muffins’ and Mackenzie Sand who did a Christmas wreath fundraiser. Bambi Pesti Hartter and Caroline for helping with food, litter, supplies, chewey gift cards, my co-workers, friends, family, and followers… THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

This is a perfect example of an animal who was given a 2nd chance. She is only here today because of love, support and true dedication. – Gina

MUFFINS UPDATE

I’m sorry it’s taken a couple days, but this girl has kept me busy watching her closely. She was feeling no pain on her drugs, but it was to the extreme that I was worried she would hurt herself. She’s finally come down a lot and she is eating wonderful! There has been a small amount of blood from her nose which is expected. We have 4 – 6 more weeks to go with multiple trips to the hospital in Flint and anesthesia for nasal flushes, but I’m very hopeful this will all work! The doctors and team at Animal Surgical Center are incredible. Thank you all for continued prayers, calls, texts, and messages. I’ll update again soon!

BILLY

5/24/23 – Billy was trapped by a very kind woman who, all alone, has been trying to control the cat population in her Senior Park. She had earlier had Billy (6 years old) neutered but some time later he showed up with an injured eye. It was infected, and swollen and Billy could hardly keep his eye open. She contacted us for help. Billy was treated at Orion Animal Hospital. – diana

JOEY

5/24/23 – In February we were contacted about a stray who was being fed by kind people during the cold months but one day he showed up appearing to have a broken leg. The finder advised that pus was coming from his leg and he was breathing heavily. We arranged for him to see one of our local veterinarians and it was found that Joey had a severe wound on his leg and the heavy breathing was due to pain. His wound was treated and Joey was neutered, tested, and vaccinated. I recently got an update from Joey’s ‘angel’. Joey is doing great and although he didn’t work out living with the finder, they found him the purrfect home with friends and now Joey is living life with his own new buddy.

Let me just say, that whenever you feel there is no hope, there are so many kind people who truly want to make a difference in this crazy world. Whether it’s through donations, advocacy, or rescue — there is an amazing Village amongst us. – diana

MUFFINS HAS HER SURGERY!

Muffins’ is out of surgery and doing ok. THANK GOD! The doctor expects her to be “miserable ” for the next 4 weeks, and we will take one day at a time. There was NO opening where it was supposed to be. It was a complete band of scar tissue that was further back in her pharynx than the doctor liked. A hollow silicone stent was placed, and it will be removed in 6 weeks. They are planning to discharge her tomorrow. Thank you for your continued prayers! I’ll update more soon. – Gina

Just dropped her off at Animal Surgical Center. Now we wait
