MUFFINS

11/17/22 I decided to show a comparison photo of what this baby looked like 4 months ago today.

Good morning everyone. Just a quick Muffins’ update. We heard from the specialist at OVRS yesterday and she has consulted with some of her colleagues from Michigan State. Today, I will call and make an appointment with internal medicine department and get her scheduled for a consultation. In the last 10 minutes I’ve cleaned her poor little nose about 20 times. That’s an all day thing. I cannot wait for her to be snot free! – Gina

AARON AND SHORTCAKE

11/16/22 – Unfortunately, no matter how much we try, we just can’t save them all. But, we do try to find some comfort in know in knowing that we all did what we could so that these babies don’t die horribly on the streets without any love. With much sadness we just want to remember Aaron and Shortcake and please keep their rescuers and caregivers in your prayers.

At just 3 months old Aaron was dumped on the porch of our 4p1h friend, Patricia. Her Ring showed him being dumped by a neighbor. He had a hernia and an injured tail. We covered his initial medical needs and then he was found to have a heart issue. 4 Paws 1 Heart paid for Aaron to see a specialist and he was prescribed medication that he would have to take for his entire life. Aaron seemed to be doing alright but then he started having issues again and we again covered his visit to Dr. Z where it was found that he had FIP (we’ve talked about this deadly disease in the past). Fortunately, a great organization chose to cover Aaron’s experimental FIP treatment and we agreed to pay for his follow-up exams. But, sadly, Aaron died of kidney failure before he got through his first 30 days. His foster mom said that Aaron was quite the character and she will never forget him.

Shortcake was another one of those special cats. Although she was a sweet feral’ cat, she was cared for by our friend, Neenah, for 5 years. Recently, Neenah, could see that Shortcake’s health was failing and although it took her several weeks, she finally got Shortcake trapped and we proceeded to get her to the vet. Unfortunately, it was too late and Shortcake passed away. But, again, she knew love.

In both cases, we do what we can but sometimes it’s either too late or just not enough but we couldn’t do anything without the support of our friends and the love of so many people like Patricia and Neenah whose hearts break far too often yet they continue to fight the fight. Please keep all of our stray animals in your prayers as the temps start to decrease and please keep the many rescuers and our veterinary staffs in your prayers; they all need our support. – diana.

“ONE EYE”, HELPED BY 4PAWS1HEART (YOUR UPCOMING DONATIONS), FINDS A HOME AND HOPEFULLY A NEW NAME.

11/15/22 – On November 4, 2022, I received the following:

“Hello, my name is Brett, and me and my wife Shelby have been taking care of this underfed cat. It has been neglected, and coming around for food, and starting to stay with us. We’ve helped bring it back to health from grooming and getting rid of fleas to just giving the cat a nice home. It is missing an eye, and has not been sown up, which we believe is a serious health concern as well as probably not being spayed and chipped. We are able to feed it but our budget is so tight, there’s no way we can afford to fix this little lady up at the vet. If there’s anything you can do we would appreciate it so much. We are planning on taking her in, just with the right help she needs. Thanks for your time!”

Well, in anticipation of potential support from our followers, I authorized this baby’s visit. The family chose to call her “one eye” (hopefully temporarily). Yesterday she was seen by one of our partner doctors and she wasn’t actually missing an eye but the eye was so bad it needed to be removed–which I authorized.

There are just so many cases like this with fur orphans needing our help and I’m just so thankful to have so many engaged supporters. One Eye is now a permanent resident in a loving home because of the 4 Paws 1 Heart Village. – diana.

RUM TUM TIGER NEEDS A HOME, MOM COOKIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

11/14/22 – Cookie was rescued in late July, 2022 by a good friend of 4p1h who we’ve helped on several occasions. Cookie was pregnant and our friend, planning ahead, asked if we could cover the potential medical needs. We said “yes”. Cookie had 6 kittens but she was very sick and ended up in emergency and when released she was unable to care for her babies. That is when our wonderful Village stepped in but not before two kittens died, leaving four very sick babies to be cared for. Over the months, several of our friends stepped up to help but unfortunately all but one would survive. That was Rum Tum Tiger. This little guy is a fighter and has overcome so many setbacks. And, now, although still suffering with some diarrhea, I was contacted and advised he was ready for his vaccines and neuter (along with a fecal test). That was all done October 27. Rum Tum tested negative for FIV and FeLV and received meds for his diarrhea issue. He will soon be ready for adoption and if you are interested in this beautiful boy, please contact Emily at: [email protected]

AND, one more piece of good news — COOKIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!! What a journey for all. – diana.
