We Couldn’t Do It Without You!

6-17-14 GOOD MORNING: A huge thank you to the 26 supporters who have made donations through paypal and the Kroger Community Rewards Program. Because of you, we are back in business to help the abandoned and abused. We may have more donations coming to us in the mail, so if you sent us a donation, thank you in advance. Please share our upcoming events with your friends and help us make them great successes.

As a reminder of what we’re all about and how we got to where we are today, I’ve posted Hercules. It was two years last month when he was rescued by the ACO in Eastpointe, Matt Virgadamo (who is now in Sterling Heights) and brought to Gina. ~ diana

SHE LIVED HER LIFE IN A CRATE AND WAS USED FOR BREEDING – JOVIE

6/14/14 – Good Morning Friends and Thank You for your continued donations. This sweet girl, Jovie, was the last abused animal we helped before we had to call a moratorium. Our good friend, Nicole N. contacted us about this sweet girl who was rescued from the streets. Should could hardly walk and needed to see a vet asap. The rescuer didn’t have the funds and we agreed to at least pay for the doctor’s visit. Jovie was more than likely kept in a crate for her entire life while she was used for breeding. After no longer being useful, she was probably dumped on the streets (as so often happens). Unfortunately this poor girl was tested positive for Heart Worm but we are hoping it is a low level. She was treated for respiratory infection, parasites, and an infection in both ears. 4 Paws 1 Heart thanks all of its supporters and all of the rescuers who open their hearts to these poor innocent animals so abused by humans. Everyone at Healthy Paws Veterinary fell in love with her sweet disposition. Please send her your prayers and positive energy. We will keep an eye on her and if possible provide further assistance when we are able. ~ diana

THANK YOU FROM THE ABANDONED AND ABUSED

6/13/14 – A HUGE thank you to all of our friends who are jumping in to help us build up our funds We truly love your willingness to always come through for us. We truly our blessed in so many ways but we still have a long way to go to do as much as we’ve done in the past 6 months but we’re hoping that we can build up enough for emergencies until our July 19 fundraiser. Here’s hoping that our 5K walk/run and the Captain Jack’s July 29 event will be huge successes. I plan to put together a 6-month financial report of what we’ve done since the beginning of the year so our many friends know where their hard-earned money goes; although I know you all follow our stories on facebook or our website. Again, God’s blessings to all of you. ~Diana p.s. Ryker says he wouldn’t be alive and waiting for his forever home if it wasn’t for the supporters of 4p1h.

Time Out Required Due To A Shortage of Funds – DEMAND HAS BEEN GREATER THAN DONATIONS

6/12/14 ALERT – It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform our friends that we will not be able to help any rescue groups or individual rescues for a while until we can build up our funds. Our balance hasn’t been this low since our early days. I hate to turn anyone away but we pay all of our bills immediately and cannot take on any more commitments. We have a few more stories to tell of a couple animals we’ve helped over the last few daysfor which I just wrote the checks. As I’ve mentioned, we do have a couple of surgeries coming up which will take up our current balance. Thank You to all of our supporters. ~ diana

6/12/14 Working with our Rescue Friends to Make a Difference – Here’s Duke

We were happy to help with Duke’s surgery. We would have liked to have helped more but need to be frugal until we can build up our funds. Hope all of our friends can make it to our upcoming 5K Walk/Run Fur Fun Event, July 19, and our just planned event at Captain Jack’s, St. Clair Shores, on July 29, 2014. Here is a note from our friends at Their Last Resort Rescue. ~
“A big thank you to 4 paws 1 heart for there generous donation to help with Dukes Surgery. It was nice of them to help us out with the big cost of Dukes surgery. We really needed the help.
We can thank you guys enough. Also go like there page and see what they are about.
Thanks again 4 Paws 1 Heart”

4/22/14 – SAVED FROM CRAIG’S LIST

4/22/14 – Our followers know that our mission is not just about the abandoned and abused who come into the Emergency or about assisting formal rescue groups with medical bills. We are very much about helping the individual rescuer who finds an animal in trouble and jumps into action. Amanda is one such person. She contacted us after rescuing this sweet dog who was advertised on Craig’s list FOR FREE. This poor guy had been kenneled most of his life and now that the family was moving they were ready to abandon him. When Amanda rescued him he was very emaciated, had a split toe nail causing him to limp, and diarrhea. Amanda nursed him through his health issues but could not afford treating his nail. 4P1H was happy to get this boy started on his new life. His nail has been treated and he’s been neutered thanks to the great relationship we have with Patterson Veterinary. Thank you, Amanda, for rescuing this sweet boy.-

4/23/14 Mr. Honeybell Update

4/23/14 – Happy Update: Many of you may remember Mr. Honeybell. Our 4P1H friend, Dave, contacted us for help. He and his wife had been sheltering and feeding Mr. Honeybell (outside) after he was abandoned by his owners. With such a severe winter, Dave became very concerned for Mr. Honeybell’s well being and then he saw that the cat was limping. On January 23, 2014 with the help of our good friends from Paws For The Cause Feral Cat Rescue, Mr. Honeybell was taken to the vet. 4P1H paid for his medical treatment and neutering and we’re happy to say that Mr. Honeybell is very healthy, not limping, and slowly falling in love with his new family. Here is Dave”s latest update ~ diana:

“Just wanted to let you know that we have become great friends. He does something I have never seen. He grabs my arm with his front paws, roles on his back and pushes on it repeatedly with his hind paws… No claws… Then he gives me a nibble on the hand and kisses.” ~ Dave

Tiz the season for abandoned kittens! I’m currently filling in and bottle-feeding these babies for “A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue”. They will be going back the the rescue on Sunday. They will eventually need homes, and If your interested in adoption please contact Michelle @ https://www.facebook.com/rejoycefulrescue Please Note: It will be weeks before they are considered ready. They are only about 1-2 weeks old and have a ways to go before they are out of the woods! Gina
