Note:  As they were getting out of church some very caring people who were involved in dog rescue saw the police trying to chase down this beautiful dog who was running in and out of traffic.  The police had been in hot pursuit for an hour.  The police generously allowed the experienced rescuers to help in the capture and finally it was only by using a taser was Dig Dug finally captured.  4 Paws 1 Heart was contacted for medical assistance and the rest is history! ~ diana 

10/9/14 – Good Morning Friends: Another rescue story for you from S.E. Michigan–Meet Minnow . A few nights ago, our friend, Jo A., received a call from a caring woman in Novi. She had found a kitten who somehow got herself wrapped in fishing line and had a fishing hook in her belly. Fortunately, the founder was willing to drive all of the way to the east side so Minnow could be seen by the great doctors at the emergency where Gina was on duty. The doctors were able to get the fishing hook out of her and removed the rest of the fishing line. Minnow was fortunate that the hook just missed her vital organs. She has been in the hospital and will be ready to recover in the warmth of a home in a couple of weeks. diana

Mere words just don’t seem adequate.  We have made such wonderful friends along our journey and they are always looking for ways to help 4 Paws 1 Heart.   ~ diana

The 4 Paws 1 Heart Board, veterinarians, and public safety personnel have had a meeting regarding Joy and due to concern for her safety, she has been once again relocated to a place where she will be in the care of an experienced caregiver 24/7. She will continue to receive therapy and crate rest until such time she can have her surgeries. Thank you to all of our friends for your understanding.

10/7/14 – Meet Henry — Thanks to our partnership with Advanced Animal Emergency in Clinton Township, this sweet 10 week old Beagle/Bassett mix was saved. He required an abdominal exploratory surgery for what was thought was a foreign body in his intestines. As it turns out, he had such a heavy load of roundworms that they caused an obstruction in his intestines and caused an impaction. He is doing well and has a home already lined up for him after he recovers from surgery. ~ diana

She is quite loving and comes to me for attention. She is fixed, tested and has shots…and thank you 4 Paws 1 Heart! Interested in Angel and maybe one of her 6 siblings too??? Contact me at [email protected] ….but do it quickly, there is already a potential home for two of them!!!

10/6/14 – Happy Morning Update: You may remember the very sad Australian Shepherd left to fend for himself after his owner died. Because of the tenacity of a very kind woman, an excellent rescue organization, and fate, this very handsome guy was saved and is now in his new home. Here is the report from our friend, Morna: ~ diana

“Just wanted to let both of you know that Pongo was adopted today. He went to one of our approved adopters who has owned aussies for many years. Pongo joins a 14 year old female aussie in this home. The man came to Metamora where Pongo was fostered and spent over 2 hours with him this afternoon. He went home to talk to his wife and when she said yes, he drove all the way back to pick him up and take him home.

Thanks to both of you for all of your help. Without you both bringing his plight to our attention I’m afraid he might not have had such a good outcome.

If he sends us some pictures of him, I’ll forward them to you. I’m attaching some of the pix that I used to post him for adoption. The man who adopted him emailed me within hours of my posting him. He is a great dog and very spry for his age. His bloodwork was like that of a much younger dog. He LOVES stuffed animal toys so this boy was a very much loved dog by someone who from what we understood passed away.
