SATIN’S SURGERY AND COSTS WILL BE EXTENSIVE

1/16/23 – I hope that fb doesn’t take down the only photo available of Satin at this time. While hunters are allowed to proudly post the photos of their victims on fb, I believe the ravages of being an outside animal should be seen.

This sweet kitten, Satin, needs the prayers of our amazing village. I received a call this past weekend about a cat who had been hit by a car. Linda, his rescuer, advised that Satin, a stray she had been feeding in her yard, was at 4-Paws Veterinary Clinic in Vassar and had been diagnosed with a broken jaw. Although we don’t have any partner vets in that area, I agreed to help as much as possible within our limits. Today the doctor called to advise of Satin’s injuries which are very extensive. His jaw has multiple breaks along with some other trauma to his head. But, the doctor felt that she could help him as well as perform some reconstructive surgery to his pallet. As the doctor described what needed to be done I became concerned about the cost because what the doctor planned to do was quite extensive. In that we had a limit as to what we could spend, I asked the doctor about the cost. And, God bless this doctor, but she said that because Satin is a stray she would cover everything over what we had committed. The doctor said that one kindness deserved another kindness.

Of course, I thanked the doctor profusely for her generosity and now it’s up to all of us to pray that Satin can be made whole and live a loving life in a home. I will update everyone when I hear from the rescuer and/or the clinic. – diana
