6/28/23 – Danny was rescued recently from a severe neglect situation; he and other Chihuahuas were living outside on chains at a trailer park. The owner eventually surrendered them to a couple of groups. A friend of a friend who is a retired vet tech of 40 years as well as rescuer of many animals over the years, took in Danny and another who ended up dying shortly after. Danny’s age is estimated at 15-16, he is approximately. 4 lbs, neutered, but with a Grade 2 heart murmur. Nothing much is known about his background. His foster mom believes he has a severe mouth infection and Danny will be seen by one of the great doctors at Orion Animal Hospital. He will be tested for heart worm and then the doctor will determine next steps to relieve his pain and difficulty when eating. The fact that he is elderly and has a heart murmur is a concern and will be taken into consideration. – diana
We know you’ve been waiting for the update on sweet Garfield and Buster.
Poor Garfield was so severely matted he had to be shaved all the way down. But both boys tested negative, got their vaccines and are doing much better. They were already neutered too! Thankyou 4 Paws 1 Heart, Auntie Vickie Kropinski Imms, Kitty Catfé and everyone involved with helping to save their lives. They will soon be ready for adoption. What a great update to start the day Team, Happy Wednesday!!!!
From Auntie Vickie:
A horrific situation turned around because of really good people. Thank you Kitty Catfé! Thank you Denise Najera / 4Paws1Heart! Thank you Laura Amodeo and Brittany Amodeo!
Meet Garfield and Buster rescued from being locked in a cage outside (in the heat, storms), for possibly weeks, covered in their own urine and feces. Water that looked more like a milky substance with a horrible stench.
Kitty Catfe reached out for help as they were full with so many cats/kitties in need.
Angels – Laura and her beautiful daughter, Brittany, did the extremely hard task of bathing and cleaning both cats. Literally cutting the feces and litter out of their hair. They loved on them – wrapping them in towels. They put them in their kitty condo with fans on them. I arrived shortly after to pick them up.
Both boys went to the vet this morning (and all day) – 4Paws1Heart paid for ALL their vetting (vaccines, exam/tests, dewormer, flea treatment, sedation & shaving, etc.) From the bottom of my heart – THANK YOU so so much!!!!
Sweet Garfield’s fur was matted to his skin! It was so severe the vet had to shave him all the way to his skin. I can’t wait for the day when it all grows back and is well groomed.
These boys are about 2-3 years old. They are bonded and have been through so much. You all know how much I want to keep them. They are literally the sweetest cats. But, I cannot. If anyone is interested, they’ll be up for adoption. Let me know. https://www.facebook.com/vickie.imms
