9/1/22 – Meet Ranger Milo. We were contacted by his finder who told us that after posting him on FB (to see if an owner could be found), she started to get a crowd of families from the town reporting that they had been trying to care for him the past few years and knew he had medical issues (dental only) but none of them tried to get him and help him further. So he probably has been suffering for several years in pain. Ranger Milo’s ‘angel’ took him to a vet and the doctor diagnosed Stomatitis (Gingivitis for cats) and advised that he needed to have several teeth removed to reduce the inflammation. This wonderful woman paid for his exam, blood work and a test for FIV/FelV which cost a considerable amount of her own money but she could not afford getting this very sweet, emaciated boy the surgery he needed to eliminate the painful infection in his mouth. She literally had to double bathe him because of the infectious drool that he licked himself with.
We couldn’t say no and the same day that we were contacted (8/31/22), Ranger Milo was seen by one of the great doctors at Orion Animal Hospital who confirmed the diagnosis and advised that all of his teeth would need to be removed. Poor 12 year old Ranger Milo had a significantly infected mouth. He received antibiotics to reduce the infection in preparation for surgery scheduled for the end of September. This dental surgery is very costly and it is about the third we’ve been asked to help with in the past couple of weeks. Your donations give orphans like Ranger MIlo a second chance at life and in his case he is already safe and being much pampered by his new, loving family. – diana

He now has a family with human siblings and a wonderful mom. All of them went to the hospital with him when he had his surgery. Also, he may have cataracts. – diana
