MANNY AND SHEP

5/15/23 – Manny and Shep were both rescued while a friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart was trying to trap others. Manny had a wound and was limping on one leg. Shep looked in very bad shape, very thin but friendly. We approved both to be seen and treated. Poor Manny had a embedded nail which was badly infected. It was bleeding with green pus oozing. His foot was swollen. He was foot was treated and he was also treated for ear mites. His one ear was in really bad shape; the ear was folding which made it look tipped but he wasn’t. So, he was neutered while there. Shep was able to be tested for FIV and FelV (negative), vaccinated, and neutered. Both are now resting comfortably and Manny is able to walk, although gingerly.

Usually the warmer months bring many more cats and serious injuries. Although, since the shut downs resulting from the pandemic, the ‘kitty season’ has become year round and the serious injuries have been continuous. Only because of your donations and participation in our fundraisers have we been able to positively respond to so many serious requests for help. Thank YOU. We hope to see many of you at our Bowling Fundraiser on Saturday, May 20. But, if you can’t make it, we thank you for your support!! – diana
