9/1/23 – To be totally transparent Socks’ medical needs was brought to us in May. He kept showing up at a homeowner’s garage and was very thin but friendly. The homeowners thought he might have escaped from his home or had been abandoned. The caring people fed him in hopes of fattening him up but one day he showed up not putting weight on one leg. Socks was seen at Patterson Veterinary Hospital in Clinton Twp. and thankfully, Socks did not have a broken leg but had a severe infection which was treated. Socks was found to be a ‘teen’ and also had a mass on his kidney. But the family decided that he could live his best life under their care. He later was vaccinated and neutered and was doing well with his rescuers. The rescuers reported that he was enjoying their home a little at a time. – diana
