MORGAN – REST IN PEACE – THE STRUGGLE WAS TOO MUCH

4/15/22 – RIP Morgan. Yesterday sweet, brave Morgan took a turn for the worse and started to cry out in pain. After nearly a week of hospital and in-home care, all parties involved decided to let the little guy cross the rainbow bridge, in peace, being held and loved by his rescuer and foster mom. Morgan was quite the fighter and we very much appreciate the staff at Orion Animal Hospital did to give him loving care. My heart breaks when we can’t save them all. – diana.

HENDRIX, CHICO, DEXTER – RESCUED AND NEEDING OUR HELP

4/14/22 – We have worked with Make A Difference Rescue in the past and we were happy to assist when they found themselves with some heavy medical needs and six dogs who needed spay/neuter, vaccines, testing, as well as other minor treatment as a result of neglect, Here are their stories:

Hendrix is a 1 year old Yorkie that was found on the streets whom no one claimed. Chico is a 2 year old Miniature Schnauzer Mix who was an owner surrender. His owner passed away and the family didn’t want him. He arrived horribly matted with urine stains. Dexter is a 1 year old Terrier Mix who was found as a stray by animal control and they contacted the rescue asking for help.

We were happy to help this caring rescue organization and if anyone is interested in adoption, please contact Make a Difference Rescue. – diana.

MIDNIGHT – UPDATE – REST IN PEACE

4/12/22 – You may remember the story of Skatz, Midnight, and Magnus. It was February of 2018 when a person we’ve helped in the past with rescues contacted us for assistance. Her neighbor had just told her that her son was going to dump his cats in the woods because he and his ex-girlfriend no longer wanted them after their break-up. Our 4p1h friend, Marci, took the cats in and contacted us. At the time we covered their spay/neuter, vaccines, and testing and everyone went on to live happy lives as, once again, inside cats.

But, this past weekend I was again contacted because Midnight was not doing well and had been taken to the hospital. Midnight was diagnosed with a fever, urinary tract infection, and pancreatitis. And before further tests could be done, Midnight became jaundiced and the doctor suggested that Midnight was going through liver failure. It was decided to humanely euthanize Midnight. Here is a message I received from his rescuer and mom:

“Midnight was put to sleep. Her liver was failing. Thank you so much anyway for your offer of help. You always come through for me and it’s helped 5 beautiful, unique cats have happy lives they wouldn’t have had without you.

I’m gonna go do some crying now. 💔 “”

RIP Midnight – We at least know you had a wonderful life with a beautiful family for 4 years and now you are no longer in pain. – Diana.

SPERO – CARED FOR IN A CAT COMMUNITY; NOW HAVING SEIZURES

4/11/22 – Please remember Spero in your prayers. Last week I received two messages about a 5 month old who was being cared for in a cat community. The caretaker noticed that he started having seizures and contacted a rescuer we’ve helped in the past. She was then referred to us for help. His caretaker did get him to a vet who prescribed phenobarbital. And he was good for a few days but then the the cluster gran mal seizures continued. He is with a neurologist at this time receiving several critical tests that I authorized with the doctor. I will update when information is available. – diana.

MORGAN UPDATE – PART II

4/8/22 – Morgan Update –Morgan was released today to his rescuer who will be caring for him with the advice of many experienced rescuers who have dealt with pan leuk. He will be returned to the hospital on Monday if needed. All of us felt he would be more comfortable in a home environment vs a 24-hour hospital. Please continue to remember him in your prayers. – diana.

MORGAN UPDATE

4/8/22 – Morgan Update. I spoke with Dr. Blasses earlier today. She advised that Morgan tested positive for Pan Leuk. But, his blood work gave her hope that he might be able to recover. He will be spending at least tonight on fluids under doctor’s care and I authorized him to remain in the hospital over the weekend if needed. Please continue to keep Morgan in your prayers. Everyone is fighting for him. – diana.

MORGAN – FOUND VERY ILL AND ABANDONED ON THE STREETS

4/8/22 – Prayer Warriors Needed! Morgan is a 6-month old kitten who appears to have been abandoned on the streets. I received a desperate call for help yesterday because he hasn’t been able to eat. Discharge is coming out of his nose. Thankfully our great doctors at Orion Animal Hospital were able to see him right away yesterday and determined he had a severe infection. He was given antibiotics but this morning when he tried to eat, he vomited. We are obviously very concerned and the little guy is very sweet and is fighting to survive. He is on his way back to the vet at this time. Please say a little prayer for him. – diana.

HANSON – FOUND RUNNING LOOSE IN AN AREA KNOWN FOR DOG FIGHTING

4/7/22 – Hanson was found running loose on the streets in an area known for abuse and dog fighting. He was obviously a tethered out dog, in a backyard, basement or garage. He has been starving to death. It was also obvious that he had a collar on his neck that was too tight and he was pulling to get loose from it. It laid his skin and muscle open around his neck and then the cable got wound around his leg and you can see what happened — large open wounds/gashes around his neck going down to his legs. He may have also gotten caught up which resulted in his hanging while he was trying to get free. We were asked for assistance by our friends at Streethearts Animal Rescue and paid for Hanson’s surgery and the doctor believes Hanson will fully recover. Unfortunately, though, the sutures didn’t hold and Hanson will return for more surgery tomorrow which we will cover along with his neuter. Please pray for this guy. He is very sweet and we are thankful that he is off of the streets and that we have the funds to help. (Photos of before and after surgery are not included because they may be too graphic) – diana.

CHRISTY, JESSIE, AND JANET – ALL RESUED FROM TREES BY YOUNG MASTERS TREE SERVICE

7/11/22 – Young Masters Tree Service is not only a great business but they go out of their way to help kitties in need. Often a kitten/cat will find his way up a tree because he’s being chased or maybe just curious. But, once up, they often find it impossible to get down because of how their paws were created. Young Masters has been there for many cats to not only save them but to then provide medical and then find homes. We have reached out to them and have been trying to help as much as possible. This is Christy, Jessie, and Janet. All rescued from danger and who we were happy to help get them vetted and, in Jessie’s case, seen for an injured back.
