Happily Ever After Stories – Part IV – Jack

jack:gailgoulette “This is Jack! He was caught in a car fan and was literally skinned. Thanks to you guys, he had surgery, neutered, and all his shots. I was to foster him until he was healed enough to find his forever home. I knew, before he was healed, that I was his forever home!  Thank you for all you do!” ~ Gail

Happily Ever After Stories – Part III – Onnie

Onnie-Before:melody10:2014 onnie-during:melody10:2014This is Cassie (aka Panther Cat) formerly Onyx. We were new to our country home & experiencing a lot of change & uncertainty when this little darling limped up our driveway. Needless to say the last thing we had on our minds was a new addition to the family but we could not stand to see an animal suffer & we knew if we took her to a kill shelter she would certainly be put down due to how injured her leg seemed. We contacted Jo Sweeney Addington who earlier that day had lovingly agreed with her rescue to help the cat hoarder situation but directed me to 4 Paws 1 Heart for help. Gina DeLuca was diligent in her care & communication to get this baby seen & during that short time we fell in love & decided to foster & then adopt, knowing that Cassie might very well need her leg amputated. I was not all offended that Gina investigated our background to make sure that we were not deceitful in our attempt to seek free care for a current animal & that we could provide a safe home for a special needs animal-in fact this is the kind of organization I want to support-an organization with a clear mission statement that is run with integrity. Gina found the best care for Cassie & Dr. Pillsbury at Harper Woods veterinary hospital was even able to save her leg! We can never repay 4 Paws 1 Heart for the love Cassie has brought to our family but we continue to make them part of our monthly budget to support the needs of helpless abandoned injured animals. God bless your organization!!!
Love,

We Asked Our Friends for Their Happily Ever After Stories – Part I – Dig

“Here’s a happily ever after for you….Dig Dug with his buddy JoJo!! Thanks again for your help with Dig.” – Amber

Note:  As they were getting out of church some very caring people who were involved in dog rescue saw the police trying to chase down this beautiful dog who was running in and out of traffic.  The police had been in hot pursuit for an hour.  The police generously allowed the experienced rescuers to help in the capture and finally it was only by using a taser was Dig Dug finally captured.  4 Paws 1 Heart was contacted for medical assistance and the rest is history! ~ diana digdugw:jojo:w:amberwolf

Minnow – A Fishing Hook in Her Belly and Wrapped in Fishing Line

10/9/14 – Good Morning Friends: Another rescue story for you from S.E. Michigan–Meet Minnowminnowfishinghook10--2014 minnowfishinghook10:2014. A few nights ago, our friend, Jo A., received a call from a caring woman in Novi. She had found a kitten who somehow got herself wrapped in fishing line and had a fishing hook in her belly. Fortunately, the founder was willing to drive all of the way to the east side so Minnow could be seen by the great doctors at the emergency where Gina was on duty. The doctors were able to get the fishing hook out of her and removed the rest of the fishing line. Minnow was fortunate that the hook just missed her vital organs. She has been in the hospital and will be ready to recover in the warmth of a home in a couple of weeks. diana

Keeping Those We Help Is Our Only Goal!

The 4 Paws 1 Heart Board, veterinarians, and public safety personnel have had a meeting regarding Joy and due to concern for her safety, she has been once again relocated to a place where she will be in the care of an experienced caregiver 24/7. She will continue to receive therapy and crate rest until such time she can have her surgeries. Thank you to all of our friends for your understanding.
