12/6/23 – Mittens was dumped at a woman’s house who cared for 9 other cats outside her home. Mittens was very emaciated and had swollen gums. She was taken to Orion Animal Hospital and eventually was tested (negative), vaccinated, and spayed. Her gums were fine; the swollen condition was most likely the result of Mittens being fed improperly. The woman fed 10 cats with one bowl of food once a day. AND, the good news is that the doctor’s son adopted Mittens and now she is living happily ever after in a great home with a great family. – diana

Meet Momma Kitty Crew – A friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart whom we’ve helped on several occasions, Toni V., contacted us about a female cat she and her cohorts had been trying to TNR for months. Unfortunately, she was wise as to traps in that she had been trapped and released several times by a wild animal trapper. Finally, she was seen with six kittens only about 6 weeks old. Fortunately, the team was finally able to get her and her 6 kittens but, unfortunately, that same night, momma passed away. At that point, Toni was responsible for 2 young litters (one was posted earlier by Gina which had 5 kittens) and now this one. This week all 11 will be going to our friend’s clinic, Comforts Place in Westland to be vaccinated and spayed/neutered. There will be one fiv/felv test given per litter. Here is Chino, DaVinci, Zora, Etta & Nina, and Bailey. Then they will be up for adoption. If you are interested, please contact Toni at: [email protected] – diana
These four sweet, loving, and playful cats are looking for their furrrever home. They were thrown outdoors when their owner went into assisted living. No one came to care for them while he was in assisted living either. When someone came to the house the 5 household cats were put outside to fend for themselves. A kind neighbor stepped up to help them find help. Although, I was not planning to foster any more this year, I went and got them.
They are in the Kitty Room at @petsuppliesplussaintclairshores on 13 Mile and Harper Ave., in Saint Clair Shores, MI. They all came out of the same household. They all get along. All have been fully vetted many thanks to 4 Paws 1 Heart. Sebastian and Simon will need some dental cleanings in the future.
Please let’s share these kitties far and wide in the hope of finding their furrever home.
12/5/23 – On June 20, 2023 we posted Annabelle’s story. She was one of several dogs and cats found at a home where everyone in the home was found dead from what appeared to be drug overdose. Some cats were dead but those who were alive were successfully placed. At the time, we assisted with some of the medical visits and Annabelle was one of 3 dogs found to have heart worm. Since that time we’ve been taking care of her heart worm treatments and follow up. Her rescuer, Teresa, posted the following which I thought would be helpful in bringing everyone up to date:
“UPDATE: December 1st:
Annabelle still has microfiliae, it was found in her 1st blood test. Highly unusual Dr. Miller said!!! So 1 month topical Advantage Multi. Then retest in 1 month. If found again, repeat. After the 2nd time retest if any are found it’s more shots. She’s a bad case. Please help 4 paws 1 heart with donations for her.

12/5/23 – A friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart, Dawn, woke up on November 30 to a tiny kitten screaming in her front yard. It took her 3 hours, but she finally caught the baby. Dawn thought that either someone dumped the kitten or the kitten got lost from her mother. All of the cats in Dawn’s community have been TNR’d so she wasn’t aware of any intact females nearby. Little ‘Mort’ was very dirty; she was given a bath and her ears were cleaned but she seemed to have an upper respiratory infection. Dawn said that she bought KMR and the poor baby had to learn how to eat heated, watered down pate. Mort kept trying to lap out of a bowl but was successful in eating off of Dawn’s finger.
Mort was taken to one of our partner vets where it was confirmed that she had an upper respiratory infection, an eye infection, and an ear infection. She is 9-10 weeks old. Mort was given medication for all of the infections and she will have a re-check on December 15 and if recovered fully she will be tested and vaccinated. An appointment will be made at a later date for her to be spayed. – diana
$2500 CHRISTMAS MATCH is on NOW through December 18. Double your donation and save a life.
12/4/23 – Happy Update on the first day of our $2500 Christmas Match.
Mister’s journey was posted on November 8, 2023. The other day we received the following update with some updated photos:
“Mister did great at his vet appt. Dr.Zalac is happy with how he’s doing. He gained 1.5 lbs over 3 weeks and he’s playing and jumping more than ever before this past week. Most importantly, his temperature was normal. He is now healthy enough to get his vaccines and they will do one final round of blood work on Dec 11th to verify it all looks good. His neuter is scheduled for January 3rd. He is an amazing cat and it seems he finally might be in the clear and will be ok. Thank you for making this all possible. I truly believe that without our intervention and the care that you’ve funded, he wouldn’t have made it out on the streets. – Allison” – diana
12/4/23. Dottie is at the hospital and will need closure of the wound. I posted a pic of what it looks like now. This will be the 3rd surgery. Please send positive thoughts for her procedure that we will do tomorrow morning. Gina
About 6 weeks ago, Dottie was found with her leg stuck in her collar for such a long time that the collar was embedded in her skin resulting in a traumatic opening and almost losing her leg. 4 Paws 1 Heart responded to providing medical care when the animal control of that city did nothing. Dottie may need a 3rd surgery to close the wound. We will be re-checking her tomorrow. You can follow her story on our page and on our website. Donations are needed to give stray injured animals like her a chance for treatment. Please don’t forget that our $2,500 match starts tomorrow so your donations will be doubled! Gina
December 4th through 18th your donation will be matched!!! Now is the best time because that means what you give will be DOUBLED the amount to help us give animals like Lucca a second chance!
A couple of months ago, her rescuer reached out to us for help with vetting after finding her abandoned. She needed the basics along with some treatment for giardia and an infection. The rescuer could not afford to get her protected from disease or cover her necessary puppy requirements like food and supplies. Lucca is just another example of the countless stray, abandoned, injured, animals that need our help. Please donate today. Gina
Meet this 4 kitten duo. They were rescued from a hoarding situation and all 4 were in desperate need of care. 4 Paws 1 Heart was on a hold at the time, yet we were able to do minimal diagnostics, dewormer, and antibiotics. Most of the care came from Deb, Jo, and Char. If you are interested in more information or adoption please message Char Dean – https://www.facebook.com/charlene.a.dean. These 4 babies will still need vaccines and fixing. If you would like to donate: Gina
