REST IN PEACE, SWEET MASON

5/8/24 – Yesterday evening I was contacted regarding this poor baby seen by a homeowner laying under her bushes. The homeowner was able to contact someone who was able to get the cat and who saw he had a huge hole in his neck with a bone sticking out (the photo is too graphic to share). That person then contacted someone who knew of 4 paws 1 heart. Arrangements were made to get him into our medical partner, Advanced Animal Emergency, but he died on the way to the hospital. 4 paws 1 heart paid for Mason’s cremation. Thank you to the rescuer who acted so quickly and for giving Mason love at the end. – diana

FRANKIE

5/6/24 – Frankie was rescued in early April and appeared to have an infection in his eyes. The rescuer, Kathy, took him to a vet where he was prescribed an ointment, steroids, and an injection. On April 25, Kathy, contacted us for help because Frankie’s eyes were still not opening. We authorized a visit to Orion Animal Hospital where it was discovered that Frankie actually has entropion in both eyes. Entropion is when the eyelashes are growing into the eye itself; untreated it will result in blindness. Frankie will have surgery on May 10 which will include being neutered. Kathy’s neighbor may adopt Frankie if he gets along with the family’s 3 cats. If not, Frankie will be looking for his furever home. Please remember him in your prayers. – diana

BOBBI

5/5/24 – Always heartbreaking. Life hasn’t been easy for Bobbi but the 4 paws 1 heart village will make sure Bobbi is not in pain and live her last days with lots of love. – diana

Hey there Team, Mom here.

So our hopes of eventually finding Bobbi her purrrfect Forever Home of her own will no longer be a possibility. Bobbi’s bloodwork came back today and we are heartbroken to learn Bobbi has cancer, intestinal cancer. Bobbi is probably about 14yrs old and we are not going to put her through treatments and biopsies. She will be our precious hospice girl now. We have several meds on board to help with her appetite, upset tummy, and poo issues. We are going to spoil her more than we already do if that’s possible, make sure she knows how much we love her, and keep her safe and comfortable as long as we can. Bobbi will let us know when she needs us to keep that final promise of love. We will be by her side and of course so will 4 Paws 1 Heart. It’s been quite a journey with our precious little redhead and we’re so thankful that 4 Paws 1 Heart have been by her side through it all. Please keep our sweet Bobbi in your thoughts & prayers and please…if you haven’t already, please donate to Angel Chance’s Cinco de Meow Fundraiser for 4 Paws 1 Heart. It means sooo much to Bobbi and all the other animals needing their help. They can’t do what they do without your support.

WINSTON

5/4/24 – Winston was dropped off at the home of a known rescuer in the neighborhood whom we’ve assisted in the pass. Bonnie, the rescuer, reported on March 20 that Winston is the “sweetest boy” who just needed vetting. We agreed to do that but then Bonnie took ill twice since then and was unable to get Winston into our vet. This week Bonnie contacted us apologizing for the delay in getting Winston to the vet but then advised that Winston was not eating/drinking and having difficulty urinating. We authorized Winston to be seen at Orion Animal Hospital. Blood work was done and Winston was given an appetizer stimulant; as of today Winston is starting to eat and drink and he will have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks. – diana

PLEASE REMEMBER LUCKY IN YOUR PRAYERS

4/30/24 – Tomorrow he will have surgery to have his eye removed. It was March 27 when we were contacted by a woman who was very concerned when Lucky showed up at her home with a very severe eye issue. An owner could not be found and Teresa (rescuer) took Lucky to her local vet where it was determined that his eye would need to be removed. Lucky was given an injection and surgery was scheduled for tomorrow.

Teresa paid for that visit but needed help for the recommended surgery. Unfortunately, Teresa is in an area of MI where we do not have any partner doctors and the doctor seeing Lucky does not provide non-profit discounts. Consequently, we will be paying the “low estimate” for the surgery as provided by the clinic. Lucky will have a furever home with Teresa. – diana

RIPLEY

4/29/24 – It was the dead of winter when Ripley found her way into a colony cared for by Jessica. She was a little standoffish at first but then started to get closer and closer liking to be petted. Jessica noticed scabs on her body possibly the result of fleas/ticks and she was very thin and had patches of fur missing. We authorized Ripley to be seen at one of our partner vets where she tested negative for FIV/FeLV. She was spayed and vaccinated and treated for her missing fur. Ripley did great and will never be outside again. Another happy beginning! – diana

HEAVEN HAS GAINED ANOTHER FUR ANGLE NAMED BUDDY

On an early Sunday morning in August 2012 my friend James called me about a stray running loose. Dave and I immediately met up with James by 9 and harper where we were all able to coral him inside a fenced area. He was hiding behind shrubs, terrified, and tired. After securing him onto a leash James brought him home, 4 Paws 1 heart covered his medical, and that’s when his journey began.

James quickly formed an inseparable bond with Buddy and that friendship grew over the years.

When Buddy’s health started to decline James was there by his side the entire time, and when Buddy was ready James made the hardest most unselfish decision to let Buddy go peacefully.

Please keep James and Tim in your thoughts and prayers as they try to pick up the pieces of their broken hearts.

Here are some before and afters of Buddy. Gina
