SWEETIE AND HER KITTENS RESCUED
6/12/23 – It all started when a kitten ran in front of Elizabeth’s car. In that she has trapped and TNR’d many of the stray cats in her neighborhood, Elizabeth got out of her car and was able to follow the kitten who led her to two siblings and a mom (Sweetie). The kittens were about 3 months old. The mom, Sweetie, was friendly and when Elizabeth picked her up, she noticed that Sweetie appeared to be lactating. She returned to the original location and found 3 1-2 week year old kittens. Elizabeth was able to get help for the 3 month olds from the Oakland County Animal and Adoption Center but not Sweetie and the newborns. That is when she contacted us. We were prepared to help the entire family but the first to be seen was the kitten named Blueberry who appeared to have an Upper Respiratory Infection. Blueberry was taken to Orion Animal Hospital and treated. Everyone else was going to be taken to All About Animals when mom was finished nursing and the babies were ready. Since that time, Blueberry recovered nicely and Oakland County agreed to take on the remaining medical needs including adoption while Elizabeth continues to foster everyone. It takes a Village and we are so very fortunate to be a part of that Village. – diana

STRIPES NEEDS A HOME
6/12/23 – Stripes was rescued after he was posted for free on a social media site. His rescuer, Aimee, was concerned that he would be used as bait for dog fighting — unfortunately a common fate for ‘free’ animals. Stripes will be vaccinated, neutered, and tested. He will be available for adoption at the Kitty Room at the Pet Supplies Plus store at 13 Mile and Harper. Or, you can contact Aimee at: [email protected] – diana

MUFFINS UPDATE
6/11/23 – Update on our sweet Muffins. A huge thank you to our Board member and co-founder, Gina DeLuca Jenio and her husband, Dave, for the love and care they’ve given to Muffins—not to mention the many road trips to medical facilities taken to find the doctor who could change this baby’s life. – diana
Muffins’ update, Yesterday was her 2nd nasal flush since the stent placement surgery on May 23rd. So far, the doctor is very pleased with her healing which is going amazing! This little girl is incredible to everyone she meets. It’s miracles like Muffins’ that bring purpose and balance to my life.. – Gina

ANOTHER BLAST FROM THE PAST
6/9/23 – The only non-cat/dog ever helped by 4 Paws 1 Heart. I was contacted by the Warren animal control officer about a ‘pygmy’ goat dying in a Warren pet store. An employee of the store contacted the officer. I approved the medical and the goat was taken to Krause Veterinary which was familiar with ‘farm’ animals. It turned out that this little guy had a urinary blockage and was close to dying. Surgery was performed and later, a doctor from another veterinary clinic took the little goat into her farm. The last time i talked with the doctor this little guy was doing well but he was actually not a pygmy goat as advertised by the abusive store owner. Also, it wasn’t long after when the City and Macomb were able to raid the store, shut it down, and charge the store owner with neglect and abuse of many animals and birds

HERCULES A BLAST FROM THE PAST
6/9/23 – Some 140 friends, who came to our bowling fundraiser, were able to meet our Canine Mascot, Hercules. Hercules was there with his mom and dad and two fur siblings. God was with us the day Gina met Dr. Kern who took an interest in this sweet puppy who had been abused by his owner. Hard to believe this was 11 years ago. Seems like only yesterday when Gina and I would take Hercules to Bark-A-Bout for therapy with our now Board member, Lori Jobak. – diana

Here’s another video taken by my niece of Hercules during his first hydro-therapy session. Enjoy!
LENA & SELENA RESCUED BECAUSE OF YOU NOW NEED A HOME
6/8/23 – In late March, 2023 Make a Difference Animal Rescue contacted us asking for help in completing Lena and Selena’s heart worm treatments. They are 9 and 10 years old and we were thankful to help then. A couple of days ago we were again contacted because both dogs were found with mammary tumors. Surgery was performed yesterday and we were happy to help with that. Anyone interested in these very sweet dogs who lived a lifetime in a cage, should contact Make A Difference Animal Rescue https://www.facebook.com/MakeADifferenceRescue/. They are a very caring rescue where they put their rescues first before their own personal needs and we are thankful that we have the funds to assist. And, that’s because of YOU!! – diana

TREZZA
6/7/23 – Trezza was rescued from the streets and the finder thought she had a broken jaw. A friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart responded to a post and contacted us about assisting. Trezza was taken to a vet we work with and it was determined that the jaw was not broken but that Trezza had a severely abscessed tooth and a severe upper respiratory infection. She was treated for both and scheduled for the tooth extraction and the dental cleaning and exam. The doctor did see ‘something’ under her chin but wanted to wait until all of the treatment could have a chance to set in. Unfortunately, Trezza continued to have the lump on the back of her jaw and was seen again. The doctor suspects it could be cancer. Trezza is eating good and gaining weight and Kim has decided to care for this very sweet 7-8 year old as long as she needs. 4 Paws 1 Heart will also be there if a further medical visit is needed. – diana

CRANBERRY, CORNBREAD AND CROUTON
6/6/23 – And I thought the world was overflowing with kittens this past winter and Spring — I should have known better!! Cranberry, Cornbread, and Crouton were found hiding under a porch after their mother was run over by a car. These poor babies were about 5 weeks old. A friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart took them in and they will be getting fully vetted through 4 Paws 1 Heart and then available for adoption. They are adorable and would bring a lot of joy to the purrfect home. If interested, contact Andrea at: [email protected] – diana
