This Huge 120 pound handsome fella had his neutering done yesterday. The checkup, vaccines, and surgery was all covered by 4 Paws 1 Heart. Because of our supporters we can help give animals like Bodhi a second chance. He was about 20 pounds under weight when rescued. He looks amazing. Thank you Moore Veterinary Hospital team for providing the best care to Bodhi! Gina
I’m sorry it’s taken a couple days, but this girl has kept me busy watching her closely. She was feeling no pain on her drugs, but it was to the extreme that I was worried she would hurt herself. She’s finally come down a lot and she is eating wonderful! There has been a small amount of blood from her nose which is expected. We have 4 – 6 more weeks to go with multiple trips to the hospital in Flint and anesthesia for nasal flushes, but I’m very hopeful this will all work! The doctors and team at Animal Surgical Center are incredible. Thank you all for continued prayers, calls, texts, and messages. I’ll update again soon!
5/24/23 – Billy was trapped by a very kind woman who, all alone, has been trying to control the cat population in her Senior Park. She had earlier had Billy (6 years old) neutered but some time later he showed up with an injured eye. It was infected, and swollen and Billy could hardly keep his eye open. She contacted us for help. Billy was treated at Orion Animal Hospital. – diana
5/24/23 -Brennan and Dale were rescued from the streets in Theresa’s neighborhood. They are being tested, vaccinated, and spayed at one of our great clinics, Patterson Veterinary in Clinton Twp. They will need a furever home. If you are interested, please contact: [email protected] – diana
5/24/23 – In February we were contacted about a stray who was being fed by kind people during the cold months but one day he showed up appearing to have a broken leg. The finder advised that pus was coming from his leg and he was breathing heavily. We arranged for him to see one of our local veterinarians and it was found that Joey had a severe wound on his leg and the heavy breathing was due to pain. His wound was treated and Joey was neutered, tested, and vaccinated. I recently got an update from Joey’s ‘angel’. Joey is doing great and although he didn’t work out living with the finder, they found him the purrfect home with friends and now Joey is living life with his own new buddy.
Let me just say, that whenever you feel there is no hope, there are so many kind people who truly want to make a difference in this crazy world. Whether it’s through donations, advocacy, or rescue — there is an amazing Village amongst us. – diana
5/24/23 – Ginger, Beauty, Diva, and Raven were all rescued from a various ‘cat dangerous’ area in a local city. They will all be tested, vaccinated, and spayed before finding their furever homes. Thank you for your support. – diana
5/23/23 – Tater, the little puppy with parvo has been released today and we helped a bit more with the final bill. We are thankful for Streethearts Dog Rescue and if anyone is interested in this baby, please be sure to contact them and follow Tater on their FB page. – diana
Muffins’ is out of surgery and doing ok. THANK GOD! The doctor expects her to be “miserable ” for the next 4 weeks, and we will take one day at a time. There was NO opening where it was supposed to be. It was a complete band of scar tissue that was further back in her pharynx than the doctor liked. A hollow silicone stent was placed, and it will be removed in 6 weeks. They are planning to discharge her tomorrow. Thank you for your continued prayers! I’ll update more soon. – Gina
Just dropped her off at Animal Surgical Center. Now we wait…
5/22/23 – Safe travels to Gina and her husband who will be traveling back and forth between St Clair Shores and Flint for the next 6 weeks. It’s been a true testament of love over the many months of care that Gina has given Muffins. And we are very thankful for the support of Dave Jenio even though he is highly allergic to feline. – diana
Tomorrow morning at 8am is the huge surgery day for Muffins’. Please keep her in your prayers. I’m super nervous and it’s been a really long 10 months of daily care.
I feel that she will be in the best hands at Animal Surgical Center. They are placing a temporary silicone stent in her nasophyrengeal area. She will go back to flint for 6 weeks of follow up procedures once a week to flush the stent. At 6 weeks it’ll be removed with hope that the hole remains open with no complications.
5/22/23 – First, we want to thank everyone who joined us on May 20 for our annual Bowling Fundraiser. A good time was had by all!! And, most importantly, everyone generously supported the many stray, abandoned, and abused animals on our streets.
A happy update for tonight from Amanda who saved Lady just before she was being transported to a shelter to be euthanized:
“Hi Diana! I want to thank you for everything that you’ve done to help Lady! This journey with her has been very challenging to say the least. Today is the hardest day of all by far! She’s leaving for her forever home! I am bawling my eyes out and rejoicing at the same time! As I’m packing up her things I’m trying to think of every reason not to let her go and reminding myself self why she should. I just wanted to thank you again and let you know that this is not the end for me. If I can help another dog or if you should ever need anything please think of me! Have a great day!Amanda & Lady “
Thank YOU, Amanda, and thank you to the many people in our communities who support the animals who have no one. Without you, these animals wouldn’t have a second chance at life. – diana
