KIA

3/7/23 – Kia was rescued by a man after she was found in an abandoned home in an area known for animals who have been abused and neglected. He had posted a request for help because he could not afford to pay for any medical care. A friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart, whom we’ve helped with other rescues, contacted us to see if we could cover any medical treatment needed. There was a concern that Kia may have been suffering from Pyometra which is most common in older dogs after many years of estrus cycles without pregnancy; the uterine wall undergoes the changes that promotes the disease.

Kia was seen the next day and was spayed; she did have the beginning of pyometra which was treated. She was also vaccinated and tested for heart worm. Thankfully everything went well and Kia is now with her rescuer receiving lots of love and care. – diana.

CARLA

3/6/23 – Another 4 Paws 1 Heart alumni who we are still committed to along with our superhero, Chance. – diana

CARLA: Awwwweee, that’s me when I was just a baby! Mom was sent this pic of me at the shelter snuggled on somebodys red shirt when I was only 10wks old and already hind paralyzed. The humans that had me brought me to the shelter after shutting me in a sliding glass door injuring my spine. Then they took me to the shelter to be put down becuse I wasn’t going potty in my box! Can you even imagine?!?! Well, the nice ladies at the shelter decided they were not going to hear all that thank goodness and they reached out to Auntie Di for help and Auntie Di at 4 Paws 1 Heart reached out to mom and the rest is history! Now I’m the beeeeauuuutiful little princess I was always meant to be, spoiled & loved.

CHANCE

3/3/23 – Our Superhero now has to wear a diaper/protective pants because of the continuous leaking of urine that cannot be controlled because of early spinal injuries which probably was the reason for his paralysis. But even with that, he’s always thinking of ways to promote 4 Paws 1 Heart. He’s such a little cutie!! – diana.

OLIVE ALSO NOW NEEDS A HOME

3/2/23 – This is Olive. She was recently trapped and seen at All About Animals. Thankffully she was trapped because the poor girl is 6+ years old, has barely any teeth, and was full of tapeworm and was suffering from severe congestion. Aimee, her rescuer, believes she had been someone’s pet at one time. Olive was spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for her congestion. Olive also tested negative for FelV and FIV. Anyone interested in giving her a loving home should contact Aimee at: [email protected] In the meantime, Olive is safe and warm. – diana
