The Many Cats of 2014

12/5/14 – I’ve mentioned this before but this year has truly been the Year of the Cat. Our friends, Jo A., Debra B., Debbie N., Joanne H., Dee G., Cynthia W., Denise N., and a few others have spent countless hours rescuing cats/kittens this year. Some were abandoned by their families–locked in garages, left in the home or just tossed out on the street, some were thrown in dumpsters, others were obviously adoptable even though they were found in feral colonies, and far too many were just born as strays on the streets. We were very happy to spay/neuter every cat/kitten who needed it and provide vaccines. We were thankful that because of our supporters we have been able to help those who were injured or ill. Because I wasn’t able to keep up with all of the individual stories when they were happening, I thought I would share their photos. For this group, if anyone is interested in adoption, please contact Jo at [email protected] or go to our Petfinder page. Over the next few days, I will be highlighting these sweet felines.10730808_866546710044295_4672554874869902959_n

Peanut – Our Little Survivor

4 Paws 1 Heart funds medical treatment for the abandoned and abused. Without donations we could not make a difference in the lives of the many animals who have come through the doors of emergency or who have come to our attention by rescue organizations and individual rescuers. Every day we try to show you where your hard-earned money is spent by posting their stories. On this ‘Giving Tuesday’ I thought it only appropriate to again highlight one of our first major cases, Peanut. Peanut was brought in to the emergency by a caring man who had seen Peanut’s lifeless body laying in the corner of a family member’s home. When Peanut came in, he couldn’t lift his head to eat. Gina really didn’t know if he could be saved. But with our medical dollars, the great staff at the emergency, Gina’s love, and later the love and attention of his forever mom, Mary, Peanut is alive and well and living in Florida during the winter. Now that is one lucky dog!! All made possible through the love and donations of our supporters. ~ diana10428598_865073420191624_6068105844255631900_n 10532339_865073323524967_7088556600431551083_n

My little lap warmer at work still needs help finding her forever home. She’s clearly gorgeous and has a friendly, curious personality. She’s very social and loves cuddling and purring in your ear. She’s pretty much perfect. Help her get a home for the holidays!

Sonic – Loverboy Extraordinaire

12/1/14 – Happy Lunch Hour: Remember our Sonic? He spent several weeks in the emergency after having been attacked by a dog. He is still under our care while his mouth heals but he was adopted by a loving young woman, Liz, and her mom. Sonic has been re-named “Dino” and he is much loved and cared for. Once again, see what love and your donations can do to make a difference. ~ dianasonic12:1:14 Sonic-before

Katniss Everdeen – The Evolution

11/29/14 – Before and After update on Katiness Everdeen.. It’s been about 4 weeks since she began her new Journey with us. I’m ecstatic to report that Katiness is doing wonderful. She is getting lots of love, attention, and training. I could notbe happier with the way she is thriving. Her foster mommy is absolutely perfect for her needs and she is dedicated to helping Katiness become socialized and well rounded. Katiness has put on some weight, and she looks healthy and happy. Her confidence shines and her fears/insecurities are narrowed down drastically. You can see in her eyes that she knows she has been saved, she feels safe, and her journey will never involve abuse again. Thank you all for your love and support! Gina
