8/2/21 – About a week ago a kind woman live-trapped 5 kittens and the mom from a bush. One kitten quickly found a home. The mom is being helped by an independent rescuer to be spayed but one of the kittens was in need of medical help. One of her eyes was 3 times the size of the other. It needed to be removed but at 1.5 lbs., the initial doctor was unable to do the surgery. Babe was then scheduled for surgery at a more specialized hospital and she had her surgery last Wednesday, July 28. On Thursday I received an update telling me that Babe is recovering nicely and is now “making biscuits” — those of us familiar with kittens know what this means (kneading). Although graphic, this is what too many animals are dealing with today on the streets. Thankfully there are people like Holli and her family, ready and willing to take charge and seek help when needed. Here’s Babe and her story in her own words. – diana4paws1heart.org/donations/
