5/31/24 – It was in late March when we were contacted about a stray kitten who was rescued and being kept in the rescuer’s bathtub while she could find help in getting the kitten tested, vaccinated, and spayed. Although, the rescuer had just moved to the Ann Arbor, MI area, she was happy to take the kitty, Tilly, to one of our veterinary clinics. Tilly was tested, vaccinated, and spayed at Five Mile Animal Hospital where it just so happened the rescuer, Jessica, interned when she was in high school. – diana
“Hello Diana! I was referred to your organization by someone in my neighborhood after recently acquiring a stray, he’s a beautiful young male cat that randomly appeared in my neighborhood and ended up following me for over a mile on a walk, not really normal outside cat behavior, he seemed pretty desperate for human contact. I feel like he might’ve been dumped in my Ferndale neighborhood. I’ve made online posts to find his owners, but no results so far.
I plan on taking him to a vet Monday so see if he’s microchipped, but given the fact he’s not neutered, I highly doubt he’s chipped.
I know a lot of shelters are overwhelmed right now with kitten season, but I was hoping maybe I could get him in somewhere to at least be neutered. Any advice or resources welcomed.
Thank you for your time.-Mckenzie”
Thankfully, Sneakies is able to see one of our partner vets, Dr. Mina at Five Mile Animal Hospital and Sneakies will be on his way for a great life. – diana
5/28/24 – It was in mid February when we were contacted about a sweet cat who turned up on the finder’s porch. His paws were bleeding and the finder asked for our help. He was taken to our partner vet, Dr. Mina Five Mile Animal Hospital, where his wounds were sutured. He was also neutered, vaccinated, and tested. The finder was to try and find Smokey a furever home. – diana
5/28/24 – It was around Easter of this year when we were contacted about poor little Punkie. He is about 10 years old and is a member of a community being taken care of by Edna. Edna has been working for years to try and reduce the number of stray cats in her neighborhood. Although on limited funds, Edna has been paying out of her own pocket to tnr and feed the overwhelming number of cats abandoned and born on the street. Punkie had been in Edna’s community for several years; born on the street. He already had several teeth removed but he once again needed more extracted and that is why Edna needed our help. Punkie was taken to our good friends All About Animals in Flint where all except 3 teeth were extracted. The surgery went well and Punkie was kept inside while on medication. Edna was going to try and find him a home because he is very docile and gets along with all of the cats. He is pretty handsome! – diana

Between Courtney, the rescue that she volunteers with, a couple members of our Board, and a campaign for donations, these little ones will be made healthy and find their ways into loving homes!! It always takes a Village. — diana
Welcome to Camp Chisholm, Little ones
Today I saved 5 kittens from terrible conditions. All are covered in fleas, anemic, eye infections , underweight and using a hole as a litter box.
I promised them they will never have to live in those conditions again.

5/23/24 – We were happy to help Aurora rescued by a friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart, Shayla. Here’s the story:
“A BIG THANK YOU goes out to 4 Paws 1 Heart for backing Aurora’s vetting. I could not have done this without them –so thank you!
Meet Aurora (aka…Rory)!
This little girl got her freedom ride the heck out of Inkster today! She’s very sweet and so happy just to be around us! She gets along with our crew just fine. She’s definitely a terrier mutt, is about 6 months old, and is asleep on the floor next to me. She DID NOT like her bath, however. At PetSmart, she had to greet everyone she met with a kiss. She gets along with our dogs and cats just fine.
Her story is that she was dumped in the front yard of the home pictured. She was in a basement for a while, and it looks like the tip of one of her ears is missing. Other than that, her vet visit went good and after we fatten her up, she’ll be ready to be spayed and go to her forever home.
Welcome to our crazy home, little girl! You are already so loved.- Shayla”
Thank you also to the staff at Five Mile Animal Hospital and Dr. Mina who was able to get Aurora in soon after she was rescued. – diana
5/22/24 – The finder’s sister, Renea, contacted us about this dog who was found roaming in the lot outside of her sister’s workplace. It took a couple of days of coaxing before she could be caught. She was super skinny and covered in fleas. She was given a bath and was doing well but Millie needed to be spayed, vaccinated and tested so she could be fostered by Renea’s sister (the finder) who would try to find a loving home.
Millie is very sweet and she is being seen by our great veterinary friend, Dr. Mina, at Five Mile Animal Hospital. If you are interested in Millie, please contact Renea at: [email protected] – diana
