3/5/25 – Apologies for adding the two incorrect photos of Bumper yesterday. I guess I was right in passing the baton to Gina. Here is the story again with the correct photos. – diana
3/5/25 – In late December, I received the following email message: “We found two kittens. We called for them to be picked up but nobody came. When we were leaving, we found one deceased beneath a car but couldn’t find the other one. Turned out the stray kitten had hitchhiked under our car. She’s got a really bad eye infection. I think she might lose the eye as it is protruding and very swollen. My husband was just laid off so we can’t afford to help her. I was wondering if you could help cover the cost for her? We are interested in keeping her. I brought her inside as the temperature is low but she is separated from our other animals until she can be seen by a vet and her eye healed. I don’t want her to suffer and with overcrowded shelters, I didn’t want her to be put down. She’s primarily a happy kitten.”
It was determined by the doctors at All About Animals-Flint that Bumper (as she was later named) had an upper respiratory infection and needed to have her eye removed. The eye removal and other vetting could not be done until after the infection cleared. Finally, everything was completed on January 23, 2025— vaccines, neuter, and eye removal.
We were happy to help this very sweet kitten who was 12 weeks old when she was rescued and now at almost 25 weeks old, Bumper is living a very happy life with her new family of humans and pets. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/
