4/13/26 update: Today marks 28 days since I brought him home after he was found at just 1 day old, when his mom wouldn’t nurse him. For those who have been following his journey, you know he’s had on-and-off neurologic symptoms over the past four weeks.
This Monday and Tuesday he seemed perfectly normal but by Wednesday he developed a head tilt to the right.
We ran a full blood panel on Thursday, which unfortunately didn’t give us many answers. Because he is so small, diagnostics are limited right now. As of Friday, he weighed just over one pound.
The head tilt is making feeding and even going to the bathroom challenging for him. He is still receiving around-the-clock bottle feedings and stimulation to help him go to the bathroom. He is also on medication in case this is due to infection or inflammation.
He’s been such a fighter, and we’re hoping for answers and improvement soon.

4/7/26 Update: I am super happy to share that little Dublin is making huge improvements! He still has a slight head tilt, but he is not rolling over anymore. He is a little fighter with a very big future ahead of him, and I am blessed to be a part of his journey.
Thank you all for the continued prayers. He is almost there!

4/4/26 Update: I hold his head steady while eating, and the good thing is his appetite is great! He is consistently gaining weight, in good spirits, and taking his medicine like a champ! Thank you all for the positive thoughts and prayers as we navigate to get him better one day at a time.
4/3/26 Update: Prayers needed for my bottle baby, Dublin. He is receiving treatment and we have to give him time for the meds to work.
On Monday, Dublin started showing a head tilt and began rolling to the left. I had him examined right away and ran every test we safely could on such a tiny kitten. He tested negative for parasites and panleukopenia. He has no respiratory symptoms, no ear debris, no eye discharge or nystagmus, and he continues to eat every 2-3 hours around the clock and he is gaining weight. At just 20 days old and only 13 ounces, there are limits to what can be tested and given at this age. Right now, we are hoping this is an inner ear infection, but could be very serious like Toxoplasmosis, encephalitis, congenital, etc.
I’ve been on edge all week—running on very little sleep and pouring everything I have into him while feeling scared, worried, and helpless.
Thank you for keeping Dublin in your thoughts and prayers. I will update as we know more.
3/29/26 Update: Happy Sunday! Dublin is officially 2 weeks old today!
I’m a little behind on updates—this tiny orphan has truly taken over my every waking moment.
He was up to 9.5 ounces just a few days ago, and tomorrow we’ll get an updated weight. A playpen is on the way, and he’s starting to become more aware of the world around him. His eyes have opened bright, he dreams peacefully, and he absolutely loves belly rubs.
I’m still doing syringe feedings every few hours, around the clock—but watching him grow makes every second worth it.
When the time comes, 4 Paws 1 Heart will be there to help with his check-up and care.
We are not a rescue, but there are moments like this—when an emergency case comes along—and I step in to give a tiny life like Dublin a chance.
3/21/26 Update: Day 5 with Dublin and loves the belly rubs. He is doing well and his eyes are about to open. I have a battery operated heartbeat to mimic the mom and he snuggles on top of it.
3/19/26 Update: Dublin is growing stronger every day, and I’m asking for continued prayers for this precious little angel.
Please watch over little Dublin as he thrives with each passing hour. Bless his tiny body with warmth, his belly with fullness, and his heart with steady strength. Let every feeding bring him life, every rest bring him healing, and every breath remind him he is safe and loved. Through the long nights and early mornings, steady my hands and renew my spirit. In moments of worry, quiet my fears with hope. For this fragile boy, continue to breathe life into him. And may this little kitten, once cold and alone, grow into a life filled with comfort, safety, and love. -Gina
Amen.

3/17/26: I offered to take home a tiny 4oz orphan newborn kitten because without immediate help, he simply wouldn’t have survived.
When I got him, he was ice cold to the touch, his temperature wouldn’t register, his tiny toes were purplish pink… but he for certain had the will to live. The person who found him cares for stray cats, but for reasons we may never know, the mom wasn’t feeding him.
Through the night, with warmth, round-the-clock care, and tiny feedings every couple of hours, he held on. And today—24 hours later—we’re doing so much better.
I think this little warrior might be a boy (we’ll know more soon!), and I’m starting to think he deserves a strong Irish name to match his fighting spirit.
Welcome to the world, little one. -Gina
