Rusty's Miracle: A Second Chance at Life

10/5/26: “Traumatic amputation of unknown cause.” That is what Rusty’s medical report says.

I’ve been a veterinary technician for many years, and this is a case I have never encountered before. It is one of those cases I call a miracle. Rusty is only 14 weeks old, yet he has already endured more trauma than any of us can imagine.

He was found with the lower portion of his leg missing. His body tried to heal, but unfortunately, the remaining bone became exposed, making an additional amputation necessary.

We offered to cover the necessary surgery, and the amazing team at Orion Animal Hospital performed the procedure last week.

And look at him now. ❤️

Rusty is doing great. He looks happy, amazing, and ready for the life he should have always had. This is where your donations go. This is why we do what we do. This is what a second chance looks like.
