SQUEAKS

9/11/23 – Squeaks is another abandoned baby found on the streets this past summer by a very kind woman not new to rescue. She asked for our help in having Squeaks tested vaccinated, and spayed so that she could find a furever home, and that’s exactly what we did. – diana

Sorry Squeaks photo was not included. But it will be!!

BABY DUMPED IN A FIELD

9/11/23 – In early Summer this sweetheart was found after being dumped in a field in Detroit. Because of the volume of rescues with severe needs being taken care of Make A Difference Animal Rescue we were asked to help with Baby’s testing and standard medical treatment. We are thankful to be able to help some of our great rescue groups who take up the heavy load of rescuing, sheltering, and caring for the needs of animals who have been abandoned and left to fend for themselves. – diana

TESS DIED WITH LOTS OF LOVE AND NOT LONELY

9/11/23 – Tess. This beautiful baby was rescued from a hoarding situation at the start of this past weekend. It appeared she had an upper respiratory infection and was very undernourished. Plans were made to get Tess into a vet today to be treated for the infection and then at a later date to be seen at another partner vet to take care of the usual medical needs and follow up for the infection. But, unfortunately last night Tess took a turn for the worse. Rebekah, Tess’ rescuer, reported that Tess’ stomach had distended and appeared to have constipation. I wasn’t able to see this until this morning and sadly, Tess, passed away. What has been going on with these poor animals has been so disheartening and heartbreaking for the rescuers. We can only find some comfort in knowing Tess died with lots of love and not lonely, suffering on the streets. – diana

TREZZA AND SOPHIA

9/11/23 – Trezza’s story was posted in June and July and now both Trezza and Sophia are scheduled for their dental on September 20. They’ve both been through a lot and we very much appreciate the people who got involved, like Kim Thompson, who saw two animals in need and took action. We’ve supported both through their journey and we pray that just the dental surgery will be the answer for Trezza and that she does not have cancer. But, if we do get the worst news, Kim is committed to giving Trezza her best life in the years she has left. – diana

Sophia is at Orion animal hospital for her dental consult thanks to 4 Paws 1 Heart. Sophia has a broken and cracked canine tooth and some others that may need to come out. This sweet momma is estimated to be 5 to 6 years old and came from Detroit with 4 girl babies all badly infested with fleas that sadly was the cause of the torti baby passing

They are also helping with a dental and a biopsy on Trezza that came to me back in early May with what was thought to be a broken jaw. Trezza still has the lump at the back of the left side of her jaw and still drools alot. Shes estimated to be 7 to 8 years old but looks alot older.

If anyone can donate to 4paws1heart to help with these 2 sweethearts it’s greatly appreciated. Just put a note that it’s for Sophia and Trezza please. – Kim

ATHENA’S STORY

9/9/23 – Posted on 9/7/23 and today I received this update from her rescuer:

“Hi Diana! Athena’s wound has healed to just a scabbed scar! She does not need any more treatment for it. Isn’t that amazing?

Thank you for paying for that big visit. The four bandage appointments after were only 20 or 30$ so I paid for those myself. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am for 4 paws and all of your help with all the stray cats and dogs. Here is a photo of Athena from yesterday. She is learning to trust again and now she has her sister with her.

P.S. Her tail looks different because it is all broken up and part of it was broken off but it is all healed. So she has half a tail and if you touch it you can feel all the bent and twisted bones. But it doesn’t seem to hurt. Thank you again!! Jennifer”

And, as always, a huge thank you to the many caring people who never turn their backs to an animal in need. – diana

4P1H VILLIAGE MEET & GREET CAT ADOPTION EVENT STARTS TODAY AT 1:00

Although the mission of 4 Paws 1 Heart is to “Reduce the number of homeless animals by funding mefical treatment for stray, abandoned, and abused animals” many of our Board members have taken on individual projects. The 4p1h Village Kittyroom is one such effort started and coordinated by our Board menber, Dee Brown Gudenau. The room gives those individual rescuers, assisted by 4 Paws 1 Heart, an opportunity to promote the animals they have saved. A huge thanks to Dee and Pet Supplies Plus on Harper and 13 Mile, St. Clair Shores. Please stop in and meet your new best friend. – diana

BANDIT

9/8/23 – On August 10, 2023 Bandit was rescued from a colony and appeared to have only “one eye”. He was taken to our veterinary partner, Orion Animal Hospital, where his eye was removed. Yesterday the stitches were removed. Bandit now needs a home that can give him free home roam and love or Bandit will be returned to the colony. In an effort of transparency, I’m not sure we would have chosen this path had we known that Bandit would not have been kept, somehow, in a home. But now, this is where poor Bandit is. Unfortunately, many rescuers today are between a rock and a hard place — wanting to save animals but being overwhelmed because of a limited amount of availability for placement. If anyone is interested in this handsome boy, please contact Elizabeth at: [email protected]. – diana

As disheartening as this post is, I won’t let it stop me from helping the animals I have the honor of helping. If it weren’t for me doing what I do as an independent rescuer, Bandit would not have had really any chance of survival. As I stated in the public post I made about Bandits story yesterday on my page: I am grateful for this organization, I would NOT have been able to help Bandit without you guys.(I’ll add the link to Bandits story in a comment here as well- in hopes of finding a helpful solution to mine & Bandits situation) For more transparency, I’ll add screenshots from our conversations about Bandit through email as well. As of right now, I still have not received a response back since the last email I recieved from Diana at 8:24 yesterday morning. I’m disappointed as well, Diana. – Beth

CREAMCICLE

9/8/23 – Creamcicle was rescued from a mobile home park. As you can see from the photo, a good part of his face had been ‘ripped off’ and turned out to be abscessed. We authorized his vetting as well as treatment for the wound with our veterinary partners at Five Mile Animal Clinic. Creamcicle is now with a rescue group and looking for his furever home. – diana
