The Before and After of Sweet Pooh

11/25/24 – On October 31 we posted Pooh’s story. He was found on the street by a friend of Brooke’s. The friend took care of having Pooh vaccinated and neutered but it became obvious that he had something wrong with an eye — it turned out to be a condition called entropion which will result in blindness. The friend could not afford this and Brooke decided to take him in and ask us for help.

Pooh had his surgery and this past Friday Brooke sent us the following update: “Living his best life we moved to a bigger home and he’s loving it with his kitten brother – Brooke”

Pooh Had his Eye Surgery

10/31/24 – HAPPY HALLOWEEN UPDATE:

Backstory: Pooh showed up ON September 28 covered with fleas and having worms. The homeowner took care of that and also had him vaccinated and neutered but then she was told that he had entropion in one eye. We’ve helped cases like this in the past and this is where the eyelashes are growing inward to the eyeball and if left untreated, it will result in blindness. Pooh’s finder contacted her friend who took Pooh in and contacted us. We authorized his surgery with Orion Animal Hospital.

Update: Pooh had his eye surgery and had his sutures removed the other day. He is doing great. You can see the difference! This can only be accomplished with your donations, the great veterinary hospitals who work with us, and, of course, the rescuers. Thank you to all and if you can, please consider making a donation. I know that the economy has been hard on many of us but, unfortunately, it has hit the animal world more than any other. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/

Happy Update on Pooh!

10/15/24 – Happy Update! On October 2 we posted about Pooh who was rescued and needed surgery for entropion in both eyes. He had his surgery yesterday and his life saver, Brooke, reported that he is doing great. Here are the the before and after photos.

This is how your donation dollars are spent and as I’ve said so many times before, it truly takes a village of caring people who want to make a difference. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/

Prayers for Pooh

10/2/24 – Prayers for Pooh who was rescued by Brooke’s good friend when she found this very sweet cat wandering around her house. Pooh was infested with fleas and worms. His rescuer to a vet to have him treated, neutered and vaccinated but then learned that he had an eye condition called Entropion.

Unfortunately, the friend couldn’t afford the surgery and talked to Brooke who then took in Pooh and contacted us. Pooh will be seen on October 9 at Orion Animal Hospital where he will be assessed and then scheduled for the surgery.

Although we’ve talked about Entropion in other posts, Entropion is a condition where the eyelashes grow inward to the eyeball; if left untreated, it could result in blindness.

Brooke will keep us informed and we’ll be sure to keep our supporters updated. Pooh is about 3 years old and we can’t wait for him to be living without pain. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/
