Tobias and Friends

12/7/14 – It’s a beautiful Sunday morning in southeast Michigan and with the sun, I thought I would brighten your day with updates of Tobias. Although he still must be on crate rest due to his broken pelvis, he is getting around and enjoying the love and friendship in his foster home. What a difference from when he was first brought into the emergency almost 3 weeks ago. Remember that Tobias is looking for his forever home and if you would like an adoption application, please send me a request at [email protected]Tobiasandfriend12:7:14Tobiasandfriend12:7:14: TobiasandFriends12:7:14::

Jake – Saved By People Who Care

12/6/14 – 4 paws 1 heart was contacted for help after someone found this stray kitty badly injured. He’s about 8 months old and he has 2 very large wounds on his shoulder and lower leg that were too graphic to show. We have them covered with bandage material. They are infected and as a result he lost a large amount of skin down to the muscle. He is now with us getting the care he needs, but it will require daily wound care under sedation and medicine. Huge thank you to the Good Samaritan that rescued this kitty and got him off the street! We need more people like them who care and don’t just look the other way. This wound could have led to a severe infection and possibly death if not treated. I’ll post another update once I know more. The rescuers were calling him Jake. I would like to honor them by keeping his name. ♡ Ginamolly12:6:14molly12:6:14::

The Many Cats of 2014

12/5/14 – I’ve mentioned this before but this year has truly been the Year of the Cat. Our friends, Jo A., Debra B., Debbie N., Joanne H., Dee G., Cynthia W., Denise N., and a few others have spent countless hours rescuing cats/kittens this year. Some were abandoned by their families–locked in garages, left in the home or just tossed out on the street, some were thrown in dumpsters, others were obviously adoptable even though they were found in feral colonies, and far too many were just born as strays on the streets. We were very happy to spay/neuter every cat/kitten who needed it and provide vaccines. We were thankful that because of our supporters we have been able to help those who were injured or ill. Because I wasn’t able to keep up with all of the individual stories when they were happening, I thought I would share their photos. For this group, if anyone is interested in adoption, please contact Jo at [email protected] or go to our Petfinder page. Over the next few days, I will be highlighting these sweet felines.10730808_866546710044295_4672554874869902959_n
