KIZMET

7/26/23 – This sweet baby, Kizmet, was one of 4 kittens accidentally run over by a hi-lo driver. The rescuer called our friend, Deb N., who contacted us. 3 of the babies were dead but Kizmet was still alive although his leg appeared to be broken/smashed. The mom of the kittens had been seen hovering over her babies but when the rescuer arrived she ran off. Our amazing friends at Orion Animal Hospital took Kizmet in immediately. Kizmet, at only .6lbs, had to have a section of her leg amputated. She is so tiny (as you can see), the doctor was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to be anesthetized. But the little trooper came through and is being cared for now by another great friend and animal angel, Emily K. This baby will need special feeding and when she is older and gains more weight she will need the rest of the leg amputated in that the doctor could only do so much because of her size. Sincerely!! God bless Dr. Zalac, her amazing staff, the angels who never turn their back when they see an animal in trouble, and those who fill their homes with love and care for the homeless. – diana

P.S. The driver of the hi-lo was devastated by this accident. And, the rescuer will be looking for the mom so that we can help her also.

Please, if you can, consider making a donation to 4 Paws 1 Heart. This has been an unbelievable week of serious injuries. We can only continue with the help of our supporters. Thank YOU.

Kizmet is feeling much better today and is taking her tube feeds and pain medications like a champ! She’s making muffins in her blankies and purring as I type. Thank you to all involved for making her life possible! – Emily

RIP PRINCE

7/25/23 – Found in a colony, obviously very sick. We were contacted by his finder who we’ve assisted with TNR and we were fortunately able to get him a same day appointment at Orion Animal Hospital. Unfortunately, before his rescuer could get him to the appointment, Prince, died in her arms. He died with love and is no longer in pain. – diana

TRUDY (RUBY) UPDATE

7/25/23 – Trudy (now known as Rudy) update. Rudy had surgery yesterday with the amazing staff at Orion Animal Hospital. He is estimated to be about 8 weeks old and the doctor felt he had been in severe pain for quite awhile. There was already calcification in the eye which was causing the bleeding. Rudy’s eye was removed and he was also neutered during surgery. He is now on the road to recovery and will be looking for his forever home. Anyone interested should contact me at: [email protected]

P.S. We’ll post some new photos soon. Thanks for the prayers and donations right now would be very helpful!!

TRUDY’S EYE IS BEING TREATED

7/24/23 – Today is an obvious day for your prayers for the many homeless who need the help of an amazing village which includes our many supporters. Your donations make a difference to so many!!

This morning I received an emergency call about this poor baby, Trudy, who was found with her eye hanging out and bleeding. Thankfully, our very amazing partners at Orion Animal Hospital saw the photo from us and immediately said to drop her off. I sincerely don’t know what these poor orphans would do without the village of caring rescuers, veterinarians, and the donors who support 4 Paws 1 Heart. Thank YOU. – diana

PRINCESS LEA THROW FROM A CAR

7/24/23 – Prayers for Princess Lea. She was seen being thrown from a car. Sherri N. (who we’ve helped several times with rescues) was contacted for help and she contacted us. Princess Lea was taken to a walk in clinic first but unfortunately they just removed the road rash but didn’t do anything with what turned out to be a very dangerous wound. Sherri has been trying to care for the wound over the weekend but today she will be trying to get into Veterinary Medical Hospital in Flint. Princess Lea is a very sweet girl who is another victim of the inhumanity of ‘man’. – diana

TIGER UPDATE

7/23/23 – Tiger Update – Tiger was found with his mom and siblings (see July 15 and 18 posts). Everyone was very healthy except Tiger who needed hernia surgery. This past Friday Tiger had his surgery at Orion Animal Hospital and here is the update from his family: ” I wanted to let you know that Tiger’s hernia surgery today was successful!! Seems to be in a bit of pain, but taking it like a champ. Thank you so much for helping him get the care he needed. We are beyond grateful!!

He’s a little loopy at the moment so will send some better photos in a little bit. – Lauren”

Without the generosity of our supporters, these babies would never have that second chance at life. diana

JAVA RESCUED

7/21/23 – On July 18 I was contacted about a dog rescued from a work place who had blood in her urine. The person’s step son would be able to foster her and, hopefully, find her a furever home with a friend or family member but they needed assistance having her seen medically. Fortunately, Gina, who works at Moore Veterinary Hospital was able to get her in the following day. It turned out that the blood was coming from her intestinal area and colon probably as a result of whatever she was eating. She is very sweet. Her heartworm test was negative. And, Java was started on anti diarrhea meds, probiotics, and a prescription bland diet. She was given a month of heart worm prevention, deworming, and her urine was checked. Once she’s better we will cover her first set of vaccines and spay. – diana

FRANK RESCUED AND GIVEN A SECOND CHANCE

7/21/23 – Frank’s rescuer lives in a mobile home park and when their neighbors moved out, they left their poor intact cat behind. The rescuer would see him from her window and one day he showed up with several wounds, probably from a fight. We were contacted and Frank was taken to our partners at Orion Animal Hospital. Frank had a fever from the infection so he couldn’t get vaccinated just yet. He was given antibiotics for the infections and two different meds for his fleas. He had wounds all over and was missing a claw. Frank has a follow up appointment on July 31 where, hopefully, he will be able to be vaccinated and neutered. His rescuer and new mom said that he’s adjusting very well to his new life as a house cat. He loves to sleep on the couch although he still is a little interested in getting out. Hopefully, once he’s neutered, that will change. His rescuer said: “thank you for giving him a second chance; he really deserves it!!

7 KITTENS WILL NEED HOMES AFTER TREATMENT

7/19/23 – We were contacted last Friday about 7 kittens who were in located in the Flint area. As the posting says, many with eye infections and one you can see who may need a possible eye removal. Upon receiving the request, I authorized everyone to be seen at All About Animals in Flint. Fortunately, the person who contacted me today; all seven were trapped and will be taken into All About Animals but the finder is searching for a rescue group who could take them in after treatment and find furever homes. If you or someone you know can help with that aspect, please contact Shelby at: [email protected]

We will update as we get further information. – diana

LADY NEEDS A HOME

7/19/23 – Lady was scheduled to be euthanized at the local shelter when she was rescued by Amanda. Amanda contacted 4 Paws 1 Heart and we took care of all of her medical needs so that she could be ready for adoption. Amanda found whom she thought would be the perfect home, and it was for awhile, but then the adopter’s had job changes and was no longer able to give young Lady the love she wanted. Lady was returned to Amanda. As Amanda states here, she has had her share of medical issues and lately has taken on a couple of new jobs and is not in the position of keeping this fun puppy of about 2 years old. Lady (LadyBug) is a beauty and if anyone is interested in giving her that furever home, please contact Amanda as indicated on the photo. Please share and paws crossed. – diana
