Atticus & Paloma: Getting Stronger Every Day

8/6/26: Update from our board member Melissa Jackson on our sick little kitties:

“It’s been a looong week of syringe feeding every 4 hours, steam showers, antibiotics, and eye drops for these two. Little boy is doing really well. His eyes and nose have almost cleared up and he is very playful! Little girl is taking slightly longer to get her spirit back. She mostly sleeps between feedings and her eyes and nose have been pretty congested. Both have significant weight gains this week.
We went back to the vet Monday and are on another round of a different antibiotic and a few more weeks of eye drops. Baby girl seems to be improving! She is up and moving around for a while after feedings and for the first time since she has arrived we have open eyes!

We did have a little setback this week – SNAP test was positive for FeLV 😢. They will remain isolated at my house and will be retested by PCR next week. There is a chance they have antibodies from their mama that is causing them to test positive. The good news is that they can still go to the rescue we have lined up for them as soon as their respiratory viruses pass.
