9/8/26. Ellie Update – In June we received a plea for help. This girl was found abandoned in a park, almost shot by someone, then was going to be euthanized by the shelter, so she took her in. Unfortunately, at the checkup Ellie tested positive for Heartworm disease and with the cost on top of all basic care the family could not afford treatment.

It was either place her in another situation or seek help.

We offered to help with the medical for Heartworm disease treatment. Ellie had her final injections last week and she can now heal and live a happy life. You never know by looking at a dog if they are positive, so testing is critical to make sure they are not positive.

6/1/26: Ellie was abandoned at Rouge Park last year. The officers that responded allegedly tried to shoot her and when the local animal control shelter got involved they were going to euthanize.

Her rescuer stepped up to help and took her in, but with some personal things going on she is unable to give Ellie the life she deserves.

We were contacted for help with medical and placement. Ellie tested positive for Heartworm Disease at her check up, so she was more then likely positive when found. It can take several months to show on testing.

4 Paws 1 Heart is unable to assist with placement, but we have said yes to helping get her treatment for Heartworm Disease while she is looking for her person.
