Holiday Hootinane 50/50

Our friend, Joe’l Tebbe-Francois, has selected 4 Paws 1 Heart to be the recipient of the 50/50 raffle she has annually at her Christmas party. I’ve attached their Raffle flyer in case any of our friends are interested in buying some raffle tickets. Thank You so much, Joe’l. ~ diana

Black Finn Fundraiser

4 Paws 1 Heart is humbled by the outpouring of support from our rescue friends, our families, and our personal friends at last night’s fundraiser at the Blackfinn.  We had 120 people show up!!  From the reaction of the Blackfinn staff, I think it may have been one the largest turnouts for one of their fundraisers.  It was so much fun to meet Cannoli’s mom, Jimmy’s foster dad, rescue friends who I’ve only ‘talked’ to on Facebook, like the ladies of Dog Aide 2012.  A huge hug and thank you to all of our other rescue heroes — Loveabull Paws Rescue, Heroes for Homeless Animals, Misfit Angels Rescue, and NBS Animal Rescue.  Lisa Taylor and Kim, Warren Animal Control Officers were also there and they told me that Kim will now be working in Eastpointe and that Matthew V. has moved on to Sterling Heights.  We will certainly be there for Kim.  And, it was great to see Hercules’ mom and dad, Tari and Chris, and we’ll look forward to hanging out with them and Hercules at the People, Pets, and Vets event on November 3 at MCC.  I can’t forget Gordon Shell and his wife Kim and how great it was for them to show up and mingle with everyone.  We wish him the very best in his efforts to stop animal cruelty and support our fur babies.

I also want to thank my friend Denny and my bff, Tony, for working the door and giving me the opportunity to take care of our guests.  If I forgot someone, please forgive me.  It was just such a great night and we’re thrilled to be able to continue our mission to treat the abandoned and stray animals.  I look forward to seeing many of you at your fundraising events. ~ diana

Angels Supporting Animals Presents Check

And this is why we are able to help so many of our rescue friends and continue to fund medical bills for the abandoned and abused — Our new friends from Angels Supporting Animals presented the 4 Paws 1 Heart Board with a check from their  recent fundraiser where 4P1H was a lucky recipient. Deborah Vitale, founder of ASA, is the owner of A Pet’s Pal and I encourage all of you to check out the Facebook pages and the websites. The mission of ASA is to help raise funds for other animal advocacy groups — a true Godsend when you consider that the rescue groups spend so much of their free time actually rescuing. We look forward to future fundraising events to help other groups in our region. (Missing from this photo are Gina DeLuca and Cynthia Wojtowycz, and Darlene Chiappetta) THANK YOU ~ diana

Big Thanks to Seasonings

BIG THANKS!!! To Dinah and William Brinson, their fur family, and the customers of their cafe, Seasonings, located in Oakland Township. During their August Dog Days of Summer event, their generous customers donated $150 in paw prints and the Brinson family matched that donation. That’s a lot of money to help our little ones like Bernise and the many others who come into our lives. Many of you might remember that Dinah and William are the proud parents of our Ruby Faith (aka Ruby Slippers) who was rescued by Gina and Dave. Ruby Faith was Ms. August in our 4P1H calendar. Here’s a photo of her when Gina and Dave found her. Check out her story in our facebook notes. We are planning to visit the restaurant real soon and I encourage all of our friends in the area to do the same. I’ve heard some great things about it. ~ diana

Angels Supporting Animals Fundraising Event

Last night Angels Supporting Animals held a fundraising event at the Lochmoor Country Club where some of the proceeds will benefit 4 Paws 1 Heart. Hercules was there for the entire evening, along with his mom and dad, Tari (Dr. Kern) and Chris. I’m sure we’ll be seeing some photos in that the everyone was taking photos of our little star. He even has his own trading card.

We also showed, for the first time ever, a new Hercules video, expertly created by Rebecca Aikins, co-founder of NBS Animal Rescue. I hope to be posting the video on YouTube later on. We even had some of Hercules’ followers from his early days on WDIV there to support us as well as Hercules’ biggest fan, Lori Jobak of 4Paws Health & Wellness.

One of the highlights of the evening was when our co-founder, Gina DeLuca, received the St. Francis award, which was given in recognition of Gina’s passion for saving all of God’s Creatures. Huge thanks to Deborah Vitale, Founder and President of Angels Supporting Animals, her Board of Directors, and all of the volunteers who made this a very special night for all. ~ diana
