SAM – Rescued With a Severe Upper Respiratory Infection

3/16/22 – Sam had been showing up for a couple of years and just recently the kind homeowner (who also volunteers for one of our favorite rescues – Misfit Angels) noticed eye discharge, coughing and sneezing. We authorized Sam to be treated for an upper respiratory infection as well as everything else needed to make him ready for adoption which includes neuter, vaccinations, a snap test, and flea and parasite treatment. Best wishes for this sweet boy. – diana.

3/14/22 – Rescued from the home previously discussed. Zoe, Ziggy, Zippy, Linus, Lilly. We will be getting photos of Charlotte, Zelda, and Coal a little later as well as any updates. Many prayers for the person who had these beautiful animals and made sure they were all spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and tested until it all became too much. – diana.4paws1heart.org/donations/

Cats and Dog in Need – 10 Cats and 1 Dog Found in a Very Difficult Situation

3/15/22 – No Judgement Please. The cats you will see in the next post were taken from this home. A very difficult and dangerous situation for which most of us can’t understand. But, the reality is that life can get away from us and although our hearts are big, our mental/physical abilities may be limited. I just want to say that I’m grateful every day for the amazing people who will step up to not only help the human involved but the many animals they thought they were helping. 10 cats and 1 dog were rescued in this situation and 4 paws 1 heart will be there for whatever is needed. So far, 8 cats have been brought to fosters and it is important to note that all but one had been spayed/neutered and vaccinated at one time. For the most part they just needed vaccine boosters, exams, and treatment for some skin issues. If anything unexpected is needed, we will be there. – diana.4paws1heart.org/donations/

JULIUS – Adopted After Being Rescued from the Streets

3/14/22 – Great News!! Julius was just a little stray kitten when he was found on the streets. We were contacted by a 4p1h friend, Heather B. from Up In Arms Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation, and we were happy to get him ready for adoption. As you can see, he is now in a beautiful home with a new fur buddy. YOUR DONATIONS make a DIFFERENCE. – diana4paws1heart/org/donations/

HELEN – Found on the Streets Needing an Eye Removal Due to Herpes

3/14/22 – Helen was found on the streets and diagnosed with feline herpes. The doctor also recommended an eye removal but the finder could not afford the medical even though she was willing to keep Helen and give her a furever home. We were contacted and we authorized the eye removal, spay, vaccines, and testing. We so very much appreciate our friends at Comfort’s Place in Redford. They are always there for us and the animals we help. Please check them out. – diana.4paws1heart.org/donations

SADDIE – Rescued With a Severe Mouth Infection Requiring Extractions

3/10/22 – Saddie was found on the streets and appeared to be in extreme pain. So much so, his rescuer, Amanda, was cautious about giving him a much needed bath. Saddie had puss coming out of his mouth and it was apparent that his mouth was infected and he needed to see a vet asap. We were contacted and Saddie was brought to a vet and given antibiotics on Monday which will last two weeks. He will then be put under to have teeth extracted and neutered.. Because of the success of the Corktown Music Festival we will be able to cover whatever is needed to give this boy a second chance at life. – diana

PATRICIA -Post Amputation

3/9/22 – UPDATE — I posted Patricia’s story on 3/3 and yesterday she was picked up after having her leg amputated. She is very sweet and came through her surgery (she was also spayed) like a champ. Again, we are not sure what caused the injury, her ear also appeared to be tipped (but not by a vet) so we still think she may have been caught in something. Nonetheless, we are so thankful that she was rescued and we were able to take care of her medical needs. One less orphan to die a terrible death on the streets because of people who care. In this case 3 people plus 4 paws 1 heart were all working together to save Patricia. Patricia will be looking for her furever home in a couple of months when her rescuer is sure of her recovery. – diana.

BUDDY – Abandoned By His Owners

3/8/22 – Buddy needs all of us. Two weeks ago he was found by a trash bin near an automotive shop and the very kind owner, Joe, took him in. Since then Buddy has been living between the garage area (which can be very scary with all of the noises) and the office. He appears to be a senior and Joe says that he is very sweet and smart. Joe recently found out that Buddy belonged to some men who abandoned him after moving from their place above another garage. Joe said that just in two weeks Buddy has become very loyal, protective and, basically his shadow. But sadly he just can’t keep him and wants to try and find him a loving home where he can live out his last years. Joe was a friend of a friend who has since passed and was on our St. Clair Shores Animal Care and Welfare Committee. 4 Paws 1 Heart will cover Buddy’s vetting and any other issues that may crop up. If you are interested in this handsome guy, please contact Joe at 586-224-2638 and then contact me at: [email protected] to arrange his vetting. Paws crossed. – diana.
