Molly’s Owner’s Threw Her Out

11/5/24 – We were contacted by a caring woman, very involved in rescue whom we’ve assisted in the past. This very beautiful declawed cat, Molly, had been thrown out before her owners had moved.

She had been living amongst feral cats and had gotten pretty beaten up. She had some wounds and had been vomiting.

We authorized her to be seen by the great doctors at Orion Animal Hospital. She was treated and we are confident that Molly will go on to find a very loving home, never to be abandoned again. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/

Meet Lucy and Ricky

10/31/24 – Meet Lucy and Ricky. They are a bonded pair of 5 week-old kittens found abandoned on the road, likely orphaned after their mother was hit by a car. They had obvious worms, diarrhea, and, as you can see, eye issues. We were contacted earlier in the month and are being seen today at Orion Animal Hospital.

Remember these babies in your prayers. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/

Pooh Had his Eye Surgery

10/31/24 – HAPPY HALLOWEEN UPDATE:

Backstory: Pooh showed up ON September 28 covered with fleas and having worms. The homeowner took care of that and also had him vaccinated and neutered but then she was told that he had entropion in one eye. We’ve helped cases like this in the past and this is where the eyelashes are growing inward to the eyeball and if left untreated, it will result in blindness. Pooh’s finder contacted her friend who took Pooh in and contacted us. We authorized his surgery with Orion Animal Hospital.

Update: Pooh had his eye surgery and had his sutures removed the other day. He is doing great. You can see the difference! This can only be accomplished with your donations, the great veterinary hospitals who work with us, and, of course, the rescuers. Thank you to all and if you can, please consider making a donation. I know that the economy has been hard on many of us but, unfortunately, it has hit the animal world more than any other. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/

Rest in Kitty Heaven, Milton

10/30/24 – Rest in Kitty Heaven, Milton. It was a little over two weeks ago that we were contacted about a stray boy who had been hanging around since May. Milton had what looked to be an eye infection and was limping badly. We authorized him to be seen at our partner vet, Patterson Veterinary Hospital. Yesterday, I received the following update from Jennifer, the neighbor who was assisting her neighbor with Milton. “Me and my neighbor took Milton to Patterson today and unfortunately his injuries/illness were pretty severe. The vet felt that even if we could get him through all his ailments the feline virus would eventually take him down. He would’ve needed paws amputated as his bones were exposed and constant care with medication around the clock. A lot of effort would’ve been needed and more than likely would not have saved him. Thank you so much for all you do to help save the animals. Slightly heartbroken 💔 but feel we did everything we could to help him. Unfortunately, crossing rainbow bridge was the best decision for the little guy. Again thank you for your efforts to help the animals. Milton would’ve suffered longer without your compassion. Jennifer Thank you to the many kind and loving people trying to save animals every day. The world is a better place with you in it. – diana P.S. Both Jennifer and her neighbor had tried finding an owner for Milton but were obviously unsuccessful. https://4paws1heart.org/donations/

Faith and Vera

10/19/24 – It was in mid June when I received the following:

“A lady on Facebook reached out and said these girls had been outside for 7/8 months and said she had no way to bring them in to the house or afford to take them to the vet/shelter. She said she reached out to a bunch of rescues with no luck as well. So my husband I and went to her house and they were both sitting there waiting, it was storming so I didn’t wanna even attempt to leave them. I named them, Daisy (the calico) and Vera (the tortie) They seem to be a great duo, they love each other so much. Can you help with their medical? – Faith”

Because Faith wasn’t in the areas we have partner veterinary clinics, we worked with clinics in her community.

Because Vera appeared critical the local Animal Control took her into their emergency;

Faith did not get Vera back. We did take care of Daisy’s needs for testing and treatment for the upper respiratory infection but unfortunately not much else could be done because it turned out she was pregnant. Faith felt she could take care of whatever else was needed in the future. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/
