10/14/24 – Pip and Squeak showed up in the area of the finder, Marisa. She assumes they were dumped because they are very young and no mom or other siblings were found. They will both start their vetting process tomorrow with our great friends at Patterson Veterinary Hospital.
10/11/24 – Cookie. This beauty was found wandering around the rescuer’s home for a few days. She is very friendly and Kimberly, her rescuer started feeding her while trying to find an owner. No one claimed her so Kimberly brought her in and contacted us.
Cookie is very thin and has some bumps and a rash under her chin. She will be seen at Rescue Veterinary Services where she will be treated and fully vetted which includes vaccines and spay. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/
10/11/24 – On September 28 we posted about Gizmo and Baby Girl; cared for by a kind woman who had recently lost her husband. She became concerned about Gizmo because his eyes appeared infected and they both needed vaccines and spay/neuter.
We first authorized Gizmo to be seen at Groesbeck Animal Hospital for a possible upper respiratory infection so that he could be treated quickly. We then authorized both to be seen at Rescue Veterinary Services for vaccines and spay/neuter.
Upon seeing the doctor there, it was suggested that Gizmo see an eye specialist. Gizmo will now be seen by one of our “go-to” doctors at Orion Animal Hospital who I trust implicitly with eye issues. Prayers for Gizmo that his eye can be saved. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/
10/11/24 – Precious was found wandering the streets — just a baby bleeding from the nose. Her finder cleaned her eyes and nose and contacted us for help.
Precious was taken to our great friends Five Mile Animal Hospital where she was treated for an upper respiratory infection.
Once recovered from the infection she was vaccinated for rabies and distemper and when appropriate spayed. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/
10/10/24 – Her finders believe she was thrown out of a car. She sat in the front of a house for 10 hours while the homeowners tried to find her owner.
She was taken in by a kind woman whose daughter has fallen in love and we were thankful to have Sweetie seen by one of our partner veterinary clinics, Five Mile Animal Hospital. Sweetie tested negative for any diseases and will start her vaccines in two weeks.
10/8/24 -A woman whom we’ve helped in the past, Jessica, contacted us again to get assistance for a sweet little stray. This is Sid, an elderly woman reached out to Jessica to borrow her live trap because there were kittens hanging out in her back yard and one by one they were disappearing. The woman lives right off of the service drive of 696 and was fearful they were wandering onto the freeway. Sid was the only one left but he was too fast and to feral to be caught. Jessica spent three days helping the woman catch this little guy. Sid was seen at Patterson Veterinary Hospital and he is safe and loved. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/
10/7/24 – In late winter a pregnant stray cat started hanging around a very kind man’s home. He brought her in and she had two babies, Mr. Rocket and Mr. Hook. He asked for our assistance and we said ‘yes’. They were tested, vaccinated, and neutered at West Flint Animal Hospital.
The boys were priority in that they are at an age where they could have impregnated the mom. The rescuer will be taking care of mom next. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/
10/7/24 – The following e mail came from Bonnie C. on 9/25/24. Bonnie seems to be a magnet for kitties in need in that we’ve helped with her rescues on many occasions:
“Somehow a cat got in my husband’s shop without anyone knowing. She had babies which she just started bringing out around the shop yesterday. One tragically died — it ran out in front of the hi-lo and was run over. All of the guys that work there were very upset. One of the guys from 3rd shift crawled down into the pit and got the kittens out of the machinery they were in. They were covered in oil and grease. My husband brought them home. I gave them baths and got bit. lol. They seem to be about 4 weeks old. I got them kmr and kitten pate. They’re eating and drinking good and using the litter box. Would you be able to cover their vaccines, combo test and neuter/spay when they’re old enough? – Bonnie”
We authorized the future visits and Bonnie will find them great homes.
10/4/24 – Blackie showed up in a cat community being cared for by Jessica, whom we’ve helped in the past. We were thankful to assist another orphan be TNR’d and treated for an upper respiratory infection. Jessica was very appreciative for our help in that she is on a limited income and currently feeding a community of 8 cats. Anyone taking care of community cats, fosters, or pets can appreciate the cost associated with feeding animals during this economy.
A huge thank you to our supporters … please check out our upcoming fundraisers — A Painting With A Twist on November 2 and there may be a very different fundraiser in December, so stay tuned (as they say). – diana
