Guinness is a 13 week old Pit puppy who is now in the care of “4 Paws 1 Heart” tonight. Owner took pup for his first walk on a leash. The pup was reluctant to walk, so the owner was advised by one of his friends to drag him. Result = Skinned up paw’s, bruising, bleeding, respiratory distress, terrified, and coughing up blood. The pup was signed over to “4 Paws 1 Heart”. We will provide the medical care he needs to get him through this…. ~ Gina

R.I.P. Black Little Pup
Pup with broken pelvis, broken femur, emaciated, and damage to both front leg’s, from being so severely malnourished. He was placed in a box and dumped in our parking lot tonight. Based on his injuries and quality of life we decided to do the humane thing and euthanize. Thank God our midnight technician saw him, or things could have been much worse. At least we were able to alleviate his suffering…this is the sad reality of working in this field. It is important that people know that this cruelty, neglect, and abuse exists. It’s everywhere, so please pay attention to your surroundings and report to authorities when you suspect it happening. ~ Gina
Delainie
Delainie was brought to our attention a few weeks ago. She was involved in an accident that required emergency surgery on her esophagus, or the alternative was immediate euthanasia.
We had the surgery done, and a feeding tube was placed. She has been fighting hard to pull through the unexpected challenges she has faced, but 4 paws 1 heart continues to provide her with the medical treatment she needs… Please keep her in your prayers for a full recovery. ~ gina
March 1, 2012 – Update: Happy to say that Delainie is doing well. We pulled the feeding tube tonight! She is eating great, but still has Pneumonia that we’re treating for. It’s a miracle that she has pulled thought this. Our doctor did an amazing surgery to save Delainies life, and her foster has done a wonderful job at taking care of her nursing care.
Stray Animals Helped by 4p1h
This video was developed by our friend, Jeff Gaucher, with the inspiration of our Angel of Animals, Gina. All of the dogs and cats in this video have found their furever homes and we are so happy that our vision of some 18 months ago has made such a difference to so many. Thank you to all of our donors, our facebook friends who have shared our stories, and to all of our friends and families who have attended our fundraisers. Please take a look and share our video with your friends. ~ diana

Little Nugget at just 4 weeks old.
Here’s our Little Nugget at just 4 weeks old. As Gina said, “she’s starting to look like a puppy”.
21 Days Old
The staff infection is cleared up, and only dried up scabs are left… She is eating like a champ from the bottle, but I’m now mixing canned food with the formula. Her weight is 6 oz. The only concern is her vision because of the staff infection. Hopefully, it didn’t do any permanent damage. She is on eye med’s..and time will tell… ~ Gina Paw’s Crossed!! Keep saying your prayers for this little one!!
