FOSTERS NEEDED FOR THE MANY KITTENS BORN ON THE STREET

7/27/14 – Since July 1, 2014, 4 Paws 1 Heart has funded the vetting, vaccinating, and, in some cases, spaying and neutering of over 30 cats and kittens. Just one bill alone for one veterinarian was $1550. These were kittens/cats who were abandoned, thrown out, or in some cases feral. These cats/kittens were rescued from St. Clair Shores to Dowriver to Mt. Pleasant. Once again, we have significant bills coming in but we are thankful for all of our friends who continue to donate and attend our fundraisers. Here are a few of the 30. ~ diana

KELO – Another Parvo Case

7/25/14 – More Prayers Needed: We were contacted by Cheri, a volunteer at a local shelter. Two dogs with Parvo were going to be euthanized at Taylor Animal Control and she could not stand to see them not be given a chance. With the help of a rescue, both dogs were pulled from the shelter and Cheri took on the total responsibility for their care. This is Kelo who is now fighting for his life. 4 Paws 1 Heart is helping with Kelo’s medical bills and praying that he can beat this horrible virus. Thank you Cheri for trying to help these sweethearts who deserve better.~ diana

RIP – SWEET AMERICA

7/25/14 – Gina and I are devastated to report to all of our friends that America passed away tonight. She fought so hard and been through so much for just a puppy. We know that she will no longer suffer but we had hoped we could have given her a second chance in life. RIP sweet America! ~diana

AMERICA – We think her compromised immune system was too much for her.

7/25/14 – America needs as many prayers as possible. She tested strong positive for Parvo Virus tonight, and we immediately hospitalized her. 4 paws 1 heart is taking care of her medical bills and with Parvo they add up quick. The doctors and staff are doing everything possible to help her through this, but Parvo is a nasty virus. It’s up to her body to fight this off while we help prevent secondary infections and replace what she’s losing.. We will keep you updated. I will be heart broken if we can’t pull her through this!  gina

PARVO TAKES THE LIFE OF ANOTHER SWEET BABY – AMERICA

On 7/24/15 -We posted a ‘happy update on the 4 Paws 1 Heart facebook page never expecting what would happen 48 hours later. ~ diana

“All of you will remember America. She was found in the middle of the road by a good Samaritan who brought her in to us. She was emaciated and suffering from a severe skin condition which would require a minimum of 30 days of treatment. Our friends at The Devoted Barn agreed to take her into their wonderful program while we took care of her medical needs. Look at this sweetheart today. If you’re interested, check out The Devoted Barn’s Facebook page.”

A Parvo Survivor

7/20/14 – Thank You, Home Fur-Ever Rescue. ~ diana

Thank you once again 4 Paws 1 Heart for sending medical dollars to our little blue doberman that had parvo. He came home from the vet today and is in need of a new name for his new life. He is still very skinny and having a hard time getting comfortable because of it, but this little guy has nothing but a bright future. Thanks again!

From a Home of Neglect and Abuse – Luna (now known as Lilac)

7/19/14 – If you don’t remember Luna check out our website – 4paws1heart.org and search “Luna”. In short she was being given (sold) away by her owners because they “just had a baby”. One caring person saw the ad and contacted us; we posted the story; and, two wonderful people rescued her from a home of serious neglect. Look at her (now Lilac) happy face today as she sits with her new mom and sibling. Thanks, Karrie Marie, for sharing with us. We had a great 5K which I’m still trying to recover from and will report on soon and don’t forget that we have the July 29 Captain Jack’s shindig coming up July 29. Give our Lilac a big hug from the 4p1h family. ~ diana
“Hope you had a great turn out for the 5k… We, Lilac (formally Luna) and I are bummed we couldn’t make it down to participate however when you break mom’s foot, there’s not much you can do.” ~ Karrie Marie

Working Together to Make A Difference. – Noel, The Prince of Cuteness

7/17/14 – The Prince of Cuteness, Noel – On December 23, 2013 this little guy was taken to a local pet store after being found freezing cold and motionless outside a Good Samaritan’s front yard. The wonderful folks at the pet store called Tigerlily to help. They were not sure what was going on physically but he did have puncture wounds on his neck/back area, and a likely neck injury. He wasn’t able to stand, but did eat and drink some on his own. He was initially treated for shock and was stabelized until he could get a consultation with a neurologist. Over the past 7 months, Noel has continued to improve although he still has neurological issues. He has actually been able to climb his cat tree. 4 Paws 1 Heart was happy to be able to help a little with the extensive medical bills. We also thank Kim, Tigerlily President and its board, for believing in this little guy and helping him in his fight for life. Continue to follow his story on Tigerlily’s fb page. ~ diana

7/16/14 – Happy Beginnings – Our little Selena (now known as Harper) has found her forever homes. Thank you to everyone who shared her story. Here’s a report from her mom, Megan. ~ diana

“I would also like to thank everyone who shared these stories, especially Selena’s (now named Harper)! Social media is how we first heard about her and we knew she was meant to be a part of our family. We are eternally grateful for the medical attention you gave her to get her back to wellness and for allowing us to be her guardians. She is a funny little girl who has brought so much joy to our home and everyone who meets her is instantly in love with her. Thank you again 4 Paws 1 Heart for all the good work you do and the happy endings you bring to both the animals and the people who love them! – Megan”
