Laney – Pulled From a High-Kill Shelter Posted on June 28, 2015 by Admin 6/23/15 – Meet Laney. She was pulled from the Humane Society of Macomb, a high-kill shelter now allowing a few rescues to pull animals from there. Unfortunately, they have not yet partnered with cat rescues (kill rate is over 75%) ut we are working on this. Laney, is a 9 lb. ShitZu who needed to see an eye specialist. We don’t know if her owner dumped her at the shelter or if she was found on the street. The bottom line is that 4 Paws 1 Heart paid for Laney to see a specialist who did a thorough exam and thinks that Laney’s eye may be able to be saved; although, she will probably need medication her entire life.
