5/3/16 – Meet Lion. This handsome boy has been living outside and cared for by a very kind lady who took a strong interest in him. She noticed a few weeks ago that Lion couldn’t use one of his legs and contacted us for help. Once again we went to our Village of friends, and Lion was eventually trapped and taken to the veterinary, complements of 4 Paws 1 Heart. It was determined that Lion has a broken leg where the bones had already started to improperly fuse and he was found to be FIV positive. Although FIV should not be a death sentence, the existence of the disease always makes it more difficult for a cat to be adopted. The options for Lion was to amputate the leg (only under the condition that he become an indoor-only cat); or, to humanely euthanize him because we would not support placing a three-legged, cat outdoors to become easy prey for others. The caretaker has decided to do whatever is necessary to keep this boy in and two others have committed to helping him find a permanent home. 4 Paws 1 Heart will be paying to have Lion’s leg amputated this morning. Please say a prayer and send some positive energy to this little guy. Remember that it is your donations that change lives. Donations can be made through paypal on this page or by mail at P.O. Box 84, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080. 99.9% of all donations go directly to the medical treatment of abandoned and abused animals. Thanks, Diana
