6/30/16 – Axel Update: Axel is looking a little livelier today. Your prayers have helped!!! We are hoping to get this baby into a loving temporary home while a cruelty case may be pursued. There are many animal lovers in the Roseville Police Department who are very anxious to help her heal emotionally and physically. We will absolutely keep everyone updated. Please remember that it’s only with your donations and support can we continue to save the lives in these critical cases. The options are: (1) tell the abuser/owner he has to take the animal to the vet but they rarely have the money or the credit to do so, consequently, the animal will die; (2) surrender the animal to the City but the municipalities don’t have the funds to cover these types of medical expenses; consequently the animal will die; OR (3) get assistance from a rescue or a group like 4 Paws 1 Heart. 7/5/16I am so very sorry to report that Axel’s suffering ended this morning. He did appear to be getting better but when Animal Control OfficerJoe, visited him yesterday he learned that Axel had no energy and had blood in his stool. It turns out he had numerous tears in his intestines. He was put on antibiotics but everything was just too much for his ravaged body. May you rest in peace sweet boy. You were loved by many in the end. – Diana
