93/16 – RIP Sweet Ghost! – It was August 22, 2016 when a kind man found this sweet girl howling in the middle of a parking lot at his workplace. She was flea infested and skin and bones. The man couldn’t turn his back on this poor creature and he and his wife took her immediately to a vet. The vet provided some topical treatments, vaccinations, and found she was negative for felv/fiv. Because the heart beat was fast, the vet suggested further testing be done. That is when the rescuers contacted us.
Ghost was taken to one of the generous veterinary clinics who work with us and was found to be positive for a hyperthyroid. Ghost was given meds and a follow up visit was planned. Although Ghost was getting much love, she was still struggling and last night she crossed the rainbow bridge. I so wish we could have done more to save this 5 lb. baby found in the middle of a busy parking lot. But, as what happens far too many times, we have to find solace knowing that she left this world feeling love and knowing that there were good hearts trying to do everything they could to give her a second chance at life. Thank you, Joe and Dana, for doing everything you could. ~ diana
