Two nights ago I was contacted about this very sweet cat who had been cared for as part of a colony. He appeared to be in distress when trying to urinate. Therewas also a trail of blood on the porch. Unfortunately, due to the high winds and power outages we couldn’t get him in to a vet until yesterday morning. Thankfully, our friend, Dr. Hynes, at Advance Animal Emergency, saw Izzy immediately and determined he needed surgery for a urinary blockage. Izzy was in critical condition. I authorized the surgery which saved his life and today he is resting comfortably in the hospital. The kind woman who sought the help of 4 paws 1 heart will keep Izzy permanently inside. Like so many others, Izzy appears to have been a pet at one time because he is very sweet and loves to be petted. He either escaped from his home or was abandoned. Izzy would have died a horrible death had so many people not stepped up to help.
