Gus – His Owner Was Going to Take Him to a Shelter

7/25/20 – Gus was going to be taken to the shelter because he defecates and urinates outside the litter box. An independent rescuer, with whom we we often assist, rescued the sweet little guy and contacted us. Gus was taken to one of our favorite vets who did blood work and checked him over to ensure there were no medical issues. Gus was neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV and FeLV and Andrea brought Gus to her home to work with him. During the course of 6 weeks, Gus went from urinating on a “pee” pad to urinating in the litter box and defecating outside the box to using a ‘pee’ pad. And then, miraculously, during the night, Gus defecated in the box. The lesson here is that we never know what rescue animals have gone through in their lives on the streets or in neglectful/abusive homes. But, with patience and love, miracles can happen.
