Felicia and Frederick Beat the Odds

9/11/26. At only six weeks old, Felicia and Frederick have already been through so much. On September 1st, a litter of kittens was found inside a foreclosed home, hungry, sick, and covered in fleas. Sadly, several of their littermates passed away over the Labor Day weekend.

Their rescuer, Katie, spent money out of her own pocket trying to help while waiting for additional assistance. Watching a kitten die when you’re trying so hard to save it is heartbreaking, and the feeling of helplessness is difficult to put into words.

Thankfully, Felicia and Frederick survived and were seen by a veterinarian in Flint with help from 4 Paws 1 Heart. One of the kittens had what appeared to be a botfly larva lodged in her nostril, which was safely removed. Both received medication and are already doing better.

Because of our supporters, we will also cover their remaining vaccines and spay/neuter when they are old enough. Thank you, Katie, for refusing to give up on these two little survivors.
