4/3/15 – Ginger had surgery to remove as many bullet fragments as possible surrounding the hock area of her rear leg. The fact that Ginger is heartworm positive made me beyond nervous. Dr. Graves did an awesome job on surgery and Ginger is healing…but in a lot of pain. She was sent home on a few different meds to help keep her comfortable. Towards the end of surgery Ginger became less stable, so we had to wake her up. We will have her rechecked on Saturday and go from there.. Still a very long road for Ginger, but she deserves a chance. I wish we could help them all.. Gina
