A Second Chance For Savannah

9/30/25: This boy was rescued from living a life with a condition that required emergency surgery. He had a large hernia and all of his intestines were outside of his body wall and inside of the swelling. He was covered in fleas, unvaccinated, and not neutered. His angel rescuer, Nadia, asked if we could help get him the surgery needed to give him a second chance. We arranged surgery within 2 days, neutered him as well, and he is recovering. Nadia is looking for permanent placement for Savannah and it is because of her that he survived. It was only a matter of time where this hernia could have led to fatality.

Thank you Nadia for not giving up, for helping with his care, and finding him a loving home. His adoption will be through For The Love of Cats Rescue.

Puddin, The Strat Cat Found With A Roll Of Duct Tape Around Her Neck

9/23/25: A kind woman reached out to us after she found this kitty in desperate need of help. Somehow there was a roll of duct tape stuck around the neck and tape on the body that wouldn’t come off without anesthesia. We approved this sweet kitty be taken to a vet hospital and to remove the roll.

They did her spay while under anesthesia, and did her vaccine, a flea treatment and meds for her ears. She was terrified but cooperative. The rescuer said she is shut down but not aggressive.

Now she is safe, her name is “Puddin” and her rescuer is looking for placement. If you are interested please email Theresa at tessa070806@gmail.com for more information.

Open Heart Surgery Saved Abigail’s Life

9/15/25: Here is the story from the rescue who contacted us for help.

“Abigail and her brother came to our rescue from a hoarding situation. They were both very sick and covered in fleas. After a bath, flea treatment, a full belly and comfortable bed they both finally slept peacefully. They knew they were safe. At their first vet check-up, the Doctor heard an issue with Abigail’s heart. She was only about 8 weeks old so they were hoping it would resolve itself after a while. But unfortunately, it did not. We need to get her to Vet Cardiologist. We took the 2-hour drive down to hear the words that she would need to have open heart surgery to close off an extra valve or else she would die. Her heart was already enlarged and we needed to get her in as soon as possible. Thankfully after much fundraising we were able to raise the money for her surgery. I reached out to 4 Paws 1 Heart and they were generous and helped with a donation to the cardiologist. I am forever grateful to everyone and every organization that helped save Abigail’s life.”

This is the letter from Abigail’s family that adopted her and her brother after her heart surgery.

“It’s hard to put into words how much bringing Abigail and Carter into our lives has meant to us. Not long ago, we experienced the heartbreaking loss of two very young siblings, Oliver and Max, to FeLV. It was more than difficult—it was devastating.

That’s why I feel incredibly fortunate to have been chosen as the family to welcome Abigail and Carter into our home.
Seeing how happy and healthy Abigail is today nothing short of amazing—and it’s all thanks to the incredible work of rescue organizations. She was given a second chance at life because of people who truly care—people who refused to look the other way. I feel so lucky to be the one who got to adopt her and her brother.

Abigail is such a special little girl. She’s been through so much, yet through it all, she remained sweet, kneading her little air biscuits and calmly enduring whatever life threw at her. Now, in our home, we get to witness the joy of her blossoming alongside her brother.

Because the truth is, Abigail isn’t fully Abigail without Carter. Their bond is unbreakable, and I’m so grateful the rescue recognized that they needed to stay together.

Watching Abigail thrive and live a happy, healthy life is a beautiful thing—and we feel truly honored to be a part of it.”

Kind regards,
Aimee N.

Help Stanley Heal: Thrown Out To Fend For Himself

9/10/25: After the mom passed away and the dad was put in hospice, Stanley was thrown out to fend for himself. He was an indoor-only cat that would likely not survive on his own. A kind person who knew the family went and rescued the cat and then contacted us for help because Stanley was in need of medical care.

We approved Stanley to be taken to Orion Veterinary Hospital where they treated him for skin and ear infections, but the bigger problem is that his mouth is in terrible need of dental work–he has trouble eating. The family wasn’t expecting the costly financial work Stanley requires as the dental is around $900.

We have covered the initial visit and will assist with the dental but we really could use your monetary help if we are to offer more assistance towards the dental.

Shadow: Hit By A Car And Has A Broken Pelvis

9/9/25: This kitten was picked up off the street by a caring husband and wife who stopped to help. They kept the kitten warm and fed while reaching out for assistance with funding. We approved an exam and x-rays at Orion Veterinarian Hospital to determine what was going on. Unfortunately, he has a fractured pelvis but the doctor did not think he needed surgery at this time. He was given pain meds and flea treatment. Later he was eating sitting up and drinking. The most important thing is that he can use the bathroom. 😉

Please keep Shadow in your prayers.

Lucy: Rescued From Dumpster at Henry Ford Macomb

9/1/25: I will never understand the act of animal cruelty. This little girl named “Lucy” was thrown in a dumpster. This was an intentional act of abuse and all I know is that she is safe.

She was seen by a vet last week testing positive for fleas, worms, crusty nose, mucous in eyes, and a sore on her neck.

The next visit, we will help with getting her vaccinations started. She will understand that not all humans are bad. We are thankful for the good Samaritans and rescuers out there who truly help make a difference.

A Tribute to Soup: A Brave and Beloved Cat

8/22/25: Our hearts hurt but our memories are held close as we mourn the loss of a brave courageous cat named Soup.

I remember like yesterday, it was a rainy night in 2013 when I received a call from a woman at the Animal Urgent Care regarding a homeless cat found outside with his head stuck in a soup can. She put his terrified body in her minivan and rushed him in.

When she arrived, I went outside jumped in the van to secure him and transport him inside to the hospital where we used sedation to cut the can off of his head. We quickly discovered more injuries on his body consisting of pelvic fractures, punctures, and a broken femur suggesting he was attacked while he couldn’t defend himself.

That night, he was surrendered to me for care. After several months of recovery and 1 yr as a foster in my home, an angel named Mary Beth Victor and her family came to his rescue, opening up their hearts and home to give him what became the best 12 years of his life.

During his adventurous history, Soup managed to escape one time and it took 141 days to reunite him with his family. They slept outside, turned the city inside out putting up signs, using social media and rewards, searching high and low, captured multiple cats in the process, endless tears, weeks of sleepless nights, but they NEVER gave up looking for him. Thankfully he had a microchip which ultimately identified him.

On Monday August 18th 2025, Soup was brought into the hospital because he wasn’t himself. Several tests revealed Diabetic Ketoacidosis and kidney failure. He was very sick and in order to alleviate his suffering the painful aching decision was made to humanely euthanize and give him peace.

Soup was a “lover boy”. He loved his family and they adored him. The joy and companionship he brought was indescribable. As his family moves forward with each passing day the emptiness and the sadness weighs heavy on their hearts. They reflect on the memories, those whispers in his ear telling him “you were the best boy – the goodest of good”, sleeping and snuggling beside Marybeth, sitting on her lap, greeting everyone that came over, and every day thanking God for bringing him back home after his journey.

These are only a few of the memories that they hold tight.

Soup was strong, he was brave, he was loyal, he was happy, and he was special.

“I’m glad that I was there to hold him one last time, give him one last kiss, be there for his family, and comfort him during his final moments.” -Gina

Deeply missed. Never forgotten and always loved. Soup is a testament of what our mission is about. He was given a second chance and the impact that he had, the mark that he left, it is unmeasurable.

Maverick The Friendly Stray In Critical Condition

8/20/25: A couple weeks ago we were contacted about Maverick – a local stray that looked really sick. While at his visit, the doctor called me to say that this boy was so critical that the options were aggressive immune suppressing dose of steroids for several weeks wth no guarantee or humane euthanasia. The rescuer was committed to providing medical treatment and giving this stray a fighting chance. It’s been almost 2 weeks and he has shown some improvement.

Maverick would have died without care. Donations = Lives Saved.
