Working with Our Rescue Friends to Make A Difference

6/27/14 – Our friends with Mutts of Motown are always there for the abandoned and abused and we hope to always be there for them. In addition to taking in four of the very abused kittens from the house of horrors, they have had several dogs needing medical treatment this past week. Sonni is one of them. He had two masses removed and is now doing well. If you want an update on Sonni and the kittens, check out the Mutts of Motown Facebook page. ~ diana

Working Together To Save Lives

6/27/14 – Again…we couldn’t do this without your help. Here are A few more helpless kitties who were found on the street and 4 paws 1 heart was able to again help. There are two males and one female. The woman who rescued them is working on socializing them so they will be more adoptable. Our great veterinarian examined them, gave them their first vaccines, dewormings, and feluk/fiv testing.  They were then good to go. ~ Gina

Nevaeh – Brought Back to Life After Dying – Our Miracle Baby

6/25/14 –This 1/2 pound baby was found on the street and brought in to the emergency veterinary by a Good Samaritan. I rushed him back to the ICU area and just as I did, his little heart stopped beating. His temperature and blood sugar wouldn’t register and he was critical. We began emergency medications and life saving measures to stabilize him. He began breathing almost immediately and his heart began beating. We brought his vitals back to normal and he is now doing great (today is day 3)! 4 Paws 1 Heart will cover all medical care ~ Gina

The House of Horrors

6/23/14 – Good Morning Friends – It is with a heavy heart that I add this requested donations link https://4paws1heart.org/donations/. Melanie, our angel from A Hopeful Heart, sent me photos of what she, Mutts of Motown, and a few others experienced in the house of death yesterday. Mel spared our friends by only showing you these dear, sick kittens who were ‘lucky’ enough to survive. It is estimated that there could have been over 100 dead bodies throughout the house in various stages of death. There will be follow-up with the Michigan Humane Society today. A Hopeful Heart is in serious NEED of qualified foster homes. If you can help you can e-mail (diana.4paws1heart@gmail.com)me with your contact information and I will get it to Melanie. This was the home of a rescue who is still adopting out animals in a pet supply store. I will update all of you when I can but I do not want to jeopardize any investigation by giving information I shouldn’t. One last point before I break to say a prayer for all of these poor animals who depend on us as ‘humans’ — when a dog hoarder or a puppy mill breeder is raided, hundreds of volunteers come out to help — dozens of rescues work to take on the abused animals BUT when a similar raid occurs where cats have been so abused and cruelly neglected, you see very little outcry or offers of help. I hope that our friends are different and do everything they can to share this story as it progresses. Please help anyway you can. A Hopeful Heart has been a wonderful friend to us and 4 Paws 1 Heart is committed to helping as much as possible with the medical bills. ~ diana

One Week Old and Alone on the Streets

4 paws 1 heart took in this 1 week old kitten that needs bottle feeding. She was found on the ground in a nearby city. I need someone with experience bottle feeding to take over, but I can get her through the next couple days. Email me if you can help. Gina.4paws1heart@gmail.com

UPDATE:  We’ve had a few offers to help with bottle feeding and fostering.  If you are able to foster,  there are an over abundance of kittens and cats who can use your help.  Please e-mail me at diana.4paws1heart@gmail.com if you would like us to keep your name and contact number on file.  Thank YOU. ~ diana

SELENA – Under 1 Pound and Lost in a Storm

6/19/14 – Not only do we commend the young men who saved this innocent, we want to commend the parents who raised two young men to be caring and loving humans. Gina’s report:
“This baby weighing just under 1# was found wandering all alone after the terrible storm today. She is about 6 weeks old and it was a blessing that two young men were kind enough to pick her up and seek help for her. We are calling her Selena. She is covered in flea dirt, eyes crusted shut from infection, sneezing, congested, dehydrated, and weak. 4paws 1heart stepped in to help and we are happy to be able to give this beautiful baby a second chance. Hats off to the young men that did not just ignore this helpless soul!!!!!” – gina

6/20/14 – I could NOT resist posting this picture of “Selena”. She is so adorable! Tonight she got a warm bath, no more fleas, and here she is on her heating pad and her stuffed teddy from Harper Woods Vet Staff:) She is so precious!!! Please share so we can find her the PERFECT home! Email me at gina.4paws1heart@gmail.com if you are that forever family! Thank you!! Gina

Thank You, Comcast, For Being a Good Community Partner

Thanks to our many friends and supporters, we continuously get suggestions as to various ways 4 Paws 1 Heart can earn money to assist the abandoned and abused. This program was just brought to our attention and I think we could make a real difference. PLEASE SHARE, and if you have some business friends let them know that not only might they may be able to save money and get better cable and telephone services, but they’ll also be able to help give the abandoned a second chance in life. Thanks, diana
